Fledgling Fyora Koniiiik
Hello, I started playing E1 a while ago and I can't find any way to improve my PCs' skills on level up. Maybe the problem is that I'm running it in wine, which makes the graphics really painful (not redrawing backgrounds and buttons, etc.), but anyway, I can only get it to show the details of my PCs. I'd appreciate any hint.
Hatchling Cockatrice Mea Tulpa
You need to find a trainer in a town. Talk to the trainer, and you can get the option to buy training. (You really do need to talk to people in Exile.) Most of the towns in the starting area should have trainers. Silvar definitely does, in the upper right hand corner IIRC. Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
Also note that training costs money: in some cases, lots of money. It's a good idea to stock up on expensive skills like Mage Spells and Priest Spells during character creation when they're free.
Fledgling Fyora Koniiiik
Okay, thank you, completely forgot this since I played it the last time... (-:

Can't go wrong with some Alchemy or Item Lore either, and (for use in hand-to-hand combat) maybe a level of Assassination.
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
Well, I mentioned Mage Spells and Priest Spells specifically because those also give you free spell points if you start out with levels in them.
Easygoing Eyebeast The Mystic
I know; I never start anyone out with less than 3 levels of both mage and priest spells. I was just giving ideas for different play styles.
