Kyshakk Koan Carranzero
Does luck helps at all? I would train it, but it takes so many Skill away..
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
(A1, right?) Yes. Its most noticeable effect is giving you a chance to avoid dying when you get hit at 0 HP. Dikiyoba finds it to be very useful.
Kyshakk Koan Carranzero
yeah, A1, i'd like to hear many opinions thanks dikiyoba
Easygoing Eyebeast The Mystic
Luck helps in all games; I tend to get about 4 or 5 levels per character.
Rotghroth Rhapsody Feo Takahari
It's a LOT more useful in the early Avernums, though, and to a lesser degree in G1. In Avernum 3 a martial artist--I think his name was Zhang--could hit me three times in a single turn. I didn't even bother going into combat mode--even though he'd reduced me to 0 HP on his second flurry, I "lucked out" and avoided death on every subsequent hit until I killed him. Broken, I know--which might be why in later games it does so much less.
Kyshakk Koan Carranzero
ya, and apart from "lucking out", does it have another use?
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
It boosts some resistances, and it may help in a few special encounters, and it possibly does a few other things. —Alorael, who must admit that he can no longer remember which games have which effects for luck. It's one of the oldest and oddest stats in Spiderweb games.
Hatchling Cockatrice Mea Tulpa
Effects in different games as best as I can recall: EVERY GAME: - Tiny bonuses to your chance to hit or dodge attacks ALL GAMES BUT EXILE: - Small bonuses to elemental/magical resistances and in some cases armor VARIOUS GAMES (NOT EXILE): - Impact (never important) on special encounters GENEFORGE 1 AND POSSIBLY A FEW OTHER GAMES FROM THAT ERA: - Small boost to chance of enemies dropping items randomly EXILE, NETHERGATE, AVERNUM 1-3: - Chance to avoid dying completely. In Exile this approached 100%. Can you say broken? There are probably a few I've left off.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
I think in Geneforge 1, Luck increases your armor.

It's quite interesting to see how long you can last in a battle when you're down to zero HP, and some very strong enemies are pounding you flat without actually killing you.
