Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
How did you get there? Did you leave the cave or did you walk through the wall to the north? —Alorael, who thinks it could be worse. You could be permanently encased in rock with no way to escape. And you could have saved your game and deactivated the editor.
Kyshakk Koan Carranzero
i dispelled those barriers, and to avoid them from remaking, i put fight mode on, then off, and i was at the other side.
Well-Actually War Trall Ishad Nha
Now would seem to be a good time to use a Recall Crystal. If you don't have any, hit the Character Editor and look at Add a Tool. I know of no underlying irregularity in that area of the outdoor.dat file that should cause such a problem. Kyshakk Koan Carranzero
ya it's ok, fortunately i save every 10 seconds.. maybe it wasn't a place that Jeff didn't mean anyone to be there... yet it's strange, because clearly there was some map making on that level (there was a river and a bridge after the "unpassable" barrier)
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
Oh, that's right past the vahnatai cavern, isn't it? You're supposed to be able to see through the barrier by dispelling, but the fight/end trick to get past scripted effects that prevent movement is an exploit that isn't supposed to work. Unsurprisingly, using it can cause bad things to happen. —Alorael, who fortunately thinks the number of useful, if skullduggerous, applications of the trick far outnumber the ones that get you stuck in walls. Kyshakk Koan Carranzero
wow, nice, apparently its the same cavern that you enter in A2 to go to ornotha ziggurat
Well-Actually War Trall Ishad Nha
Possibly or possibly not the same cavern. The outdoors in the NW part of A2 is sometimes very different to the original A1. For example the Ornotha Ziggurat is found in outdoor zone X=0,Y=1. In A1 this was a cave with a bit of lava and swamp. The original Vahnatai cave had an entrance at 15,37 while the Vahnatai route to Ornotha is at 31,12. (I am using coordiantes from my own private ports of A1 and A2 to the BoA game: http://www.freewebs.com/ishadnha/A1Template.zip http://www.freewebs.com/ishadnha/A2Template.zip You will need to manually activate the address bar and press Enter here.) Well-Actually War Trall Ishad Nha
It was never finished, I am still working on the A1 towns. I have the spreadsheets to convert the A2 towns, I just have not gotten around to it. For a look at one of the Avernum series spreadsheets see: http://www.freewebs.com/ishadnha/A2LargeTownsDecryptor.zip
