I did just for the heck of it and found it wasn't so hard after all if I used the right techniques. I was dissapointed that their nests didn't have better 'stuff'. I think I used area spells like divine retribution and lightning spray while hasted and blessed. Just keep blasting until you've cleared the whole area before leaving combat mode to loot.
