Tenderfoot Thahd wineguy
Oops. I seem to have gone the wrong way and ended up in the Skree caves. The barriers are still up in the Fort Emerald and the gate seems to have closed behind me. Is there any way out I am missing?
Unflappable Drayk Radix Malorum Est Cupiditas
Nope. Either start over or hit shift-D and type in "returntostart" without the quotation marks. On a lighter note, the latest patch fixes that.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
Except it's "backtostart" instead. —Alorael, who feels no shame in backtostarting. It's like using a pylon except not from a pylon. And when you're trapped in the caves, well, sometimes the only way around a bug is cheating. Tenderfoot Thahd wineguy
Duh - I forgot about the cheats.
Well-Actually War Trall Ash Lael
I feel plaigarised.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
I thought the last upgrade patch was supposed to prevent this from happening? Mac version 1.0.
Garrulous Glaahk -silver-
and the downside is, odds are you didn't get the wyrmtail quest before going in the wrong way, and now you've killed all the wyrms and they don't regen like the other quest animals. at least, that's what happened to me
Well-Actually War Trall Spidweb
The v1.0.3 patch should fix this. For people with an older version, the back to start cheat is the only way out. Some of the wyrms should repop. I forget where in the Scree Caves they were. - Jeff Vogel
Tenderfoot Thahd wineguy
In point of fact I was running Mac v. 1.0.3 when I got stuck.
Magnificent Ornk Swimmin' Salmon
I was also blindsided by the inability to exit the Scree Caves. In my defense, I've altered some of the basic stats of weapons and other items so as to make adventuring life easier. That may have affected my ability to do things that otherwise wouldn't be possible. In particular, my Tinker's Gloves are insane, my bows shoot acid arrows, and my boots augment my strength. Never underestimate the power of properly sized footwear.
Ineffable Wingbolt Milla
I have a different problem. I can't get into the Skree Caves. Before I went into the game I installed the patch. The I went into my saved game which was in the Darkside Loyalists hideout (Which is entered from Saffron.) After reporting back to Saffron I went back to the hideout and then upstairs to the two gates. Except this time "I wasn't strong enough" but I had opened them before. What the hell happened? The real way into the Scree Caves is through Fort Emerald. Try that. (Note: you'll have to do the quests that lead up to getting into there.)
