  1. Redbeard has asked me to go speak to chief Tilla a final time, and find out where Dheless went. But when I speak to Tilla she is still just talking about finding Daum (who I already defeated and imprisoned) Theres no dialog options about Dheless so Im kinda stuck Has my game glitched?
  2. Thankyou! not sure how I missed that, I guess I was waiting for someone to give me an item to bypass the traps Finally past that and have a bit more freedom to explore now
  3. Ive been trawling the three towns for hours with zero progress, kinda frustrated now how do I bypass the fire traps in southeast of map, to progress? I feel like ive spoken to everyone in the game multiple times, including Trupo. Theres no combat left for me to do either, so cant level up
  4. *cough* I did of course mean SpiderWeb
  5. Just wanted to say thankyou for persisting with iOS development. I know there were a bunch of issues in the past where you decided you could not support iOS anymore, thanks to Apple constantly changing the API's, so Im really happy to see you have found a way to resume this I really can't wait to play Avadon 3 on my iPad :-) While I'm here, to other users reading, please try to review the app on App Store. There is a difference between just tapping 5 stars, compared to leaving a good written review. We all want SpiderSoft to be successful and keep making games right? :-) Cheers
  6. Thanks guys. Im just playing on Normal, so good to hear I can afford a few badly allocated points. I think I'll plod on for a little while, and then restart if I make another mistake
  7. Thankyou, this makes more sense. The version numbers can all get a bit confusing
  8. In Escape I encountered a hibernating race. I cant remember exactly where, but it was some fortress or crypt where they were sleeping and notices saying they would awake one day. I completed Escape but didnt find any quests which involved them (the game ended with them still in hibernation) Now Im playing Avernum 6 (both on ipad), and I see theres a member of this race milling about in The Castle Is there some quest I missed in Escape? Or maybe there's normally a game in between Escape and AV6 thats not on iPad yet? I'm just curious how the story-line developed, for them to suddenly reappear in Avernum
  9. Just started playing AV6 on iPad, after completing Escape from the Pit. Right off the bat, you find dozens of locked doors and chests that cant be opened, so I was putting some skill points into Tool Use, in the hope of getting some nice loot early on. But I spread my tool use across all 4 characters, and Ive since learnt that in AV6 its just the highest character that counts (and not the party total like Escape). Wondering if this is a minor setback, or whether I should just restart with new character? Im a few hours in, and my 4 chars have been boosted to 2, 3, 4 and 4 tool use respectively.
  10. You mean like Bethesda, with Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, and Fallout 3? All of them best-sellers But I don't think many people actually want that from Spiderweb. Personally I play these games because I love old-skool retro rpg's. Even with its gorgeous graphics, Skyrim got boring in ways that Avernum didn't.
  11. Sorry, I forgot to mention, Its for Avernum: Escape from the Pit I checked the junk bag but it doesnt appear to go there either. The item seems to just disappear
  12. Is there any way to tell how close you are to annoying the guards, when you get caught rifling through someones drawers (the wooden kind)? It seems a bit random, sometimes its too much and they attack, other times I seem to be able to get away with a lot. Also do guards remember this, if say they catch me stealing three times, and I leave the town and come back later?
  13. I've tried this quite a few times, and come to the conclusion its a bug. But if someone else could confirm (iPad version), that'd be cool... Open one of your characters inventory and select an item. Now normally you can tap another characters portrait (in the top left) and he'll give the item to him But if you tap the same person as who's inventory you're viewing, the item seems to just disappear, never to be seen again Admittedly its a fairly minor bug and can easily be avoided, but I figured its worth mentioning
  14. Hi, Thanks for the advice. I dont think demo's are available on app store, but I'm enjoying Avernum so much I'll probably just buy it anyway, now that I know its a different game. Plus I think they're very reasonably priced so whats the worst can happen :-)
  15. I bought Avadon for iPad maybe a year or two ago, but I never played it much because it was so laggy and virtually unplayable. I since upgraded from iPad 1 to an iPad 3 and decided to give Averdon Escape a try. Performance is great, and I've put maybe 40 or 50 hours into it over the past few weeks. A few things have frustrated me though. I thought Id post them here as constructive criticism, and hopefully the devs could consider this for future games (or maybe even updates). 1) The pathfinding algorithm is fairly poor, and I'm sure could be improved lots. It will only let you travel a very limited distance before spitting out the 'Too far' error. I'd love to see this improved. Likewise after exiting a settlement, you often scroll the map to a distant point and then tap. But it moves one space which happens to be a tile belonging to the settlement, and enters you back into the town you just exited. This is kinda annoying and unnecessary. When you're sailing in a ship, its even worse. It seems to use a slightly different algorithm to walking on land. A ship will often get stuck in outcrops, and makes no attempt to move sideways to navigate around them. 2) I'd really love to see levels remember which doors and secret walls have been opened, and restore them next time you visit. Some difficult areas require you to go back to town and revisit when you've gained a few levels. But despite the map being almost revealed, you still have to go and re-find the secret walls in order to traverse the level. 3) Merchants: i can only speak for Avernum Escape, but what I find is that the merchants rarely have anything worth buying, when it comes to weapons and armor (at least after youve hit level 6 or something). It would be great if their stock rotated a bit, and once in a while they had a unique item or some reason to go back and see them. Right now I visit a merchant, see he has nothing more than a steel helmet, and then never visit him again because these are so common. 4) I find it very difficult to stay stocked on mana, without constantly travelling back to town. Energy potions and elixirs are slightly too expensive and hard to come by. I think these should be made a little cheaper, and more widely stocked. I keep finding alchemical equipment but my understanding is there is no way for your characters to actually use this to produce potions. If Im wrong on that, then ignore this suggestion. Thanks, sorry if it sounds a bit negative, but I'm REALLY enjoying Avernum, and I only post this because Id love to see them improved even more
