Chittering Clawbug

Chittering Clawbug (6/17)

  1. What do you mean who has Demonslayer? I gave that to Lark ages ago. And I think another character has a broadsword anyway.
  2. Hm, makes sense. That's a very different thing than the error message implies, though. But at least it's not a bug, just somewhat misleading messaging.
  3. Nope, the current weapon was a Ghostly Blade and I tried to equip a Nephil Warblade. And yes, I'm sure - the character doesn't even HAVE a broadsword in his pack.
  4. I was in combat with a character wielding a sword and a shield. He had a full pack. I tried to replace the shield with another sword. I got a message something along the lines of "Equip failed: No room in pack to put replaced item." Annoying, but not fatal. Thing is, OUT of combat, I was able to switch the shield with the sword just fine, with no change in circumstance other than being out of combat. I know I can't change armor in combat, but the error message wasn't the one I get for that, so if that's the issue, shouldn't the right error message appear?
  5. 1) Kavarus. I figured out how to avoid the two pillars blowing up, but then there's the death curse. Can I "outrange" that too, since the flavor text says he looks for someone nearby? Or do I just have to kill him before the curse kills my character? 2) There's this fungus beast (I forgot the name) in an area called the Heart of the Forest. Is this the one the vanhatai mushroom-grower wants dead, or is it the one that makes little dudes every round? Anyway, this particular beast (the one in the Heart) lets out this surrounding poison attack that does triple digit damage. Do I just have to outrun that too, and hope that he doesn't run towards my characters the turn he pulls off the move? Thanks!
  6. Well, considering your post in the thread about Melanchion, I don't stand a chance anyway considering my party composition, so I'm not gonna bother. Besides, I already "spent" my herbs anyway. The addendum about invulnerability potions came a bit late.
  7. Everyone has at least 17 Healing Elixirs, the mages have at least 20 Energy Potions and 24 Energy Elixirs, and I still have a bunch of Group Heal scrolls and 3 or 4 Rods of Succor. So I think that should be fine for the rest of the game (going to see the dragon right now). Thanks!
  8. Like, say, Invulnerability Potions or what have you? Or can I get by on what I find? I've been saving up my herbs, so I can make 30 of 'em if I wanted to.
  9. Ah, right, it's the mage that'll have Natural Mage and the removal of that little drawback. But you agree it's probably too late at this point? Other posts say I can probably get by the way the party is right now, considering how few healing items I've used.
  10. You have to find them on the ground, generally, IIRC. They look like Broken Egg Sacs, so you'll just have to search where Chitrachs are. I believe some Chitrachs also drop them.
  11. I see. Well, I have had occasional difficulty where one Mass Heal wasn't enough, and/or I had to get lucky with Haste to get in all the healing that round I wanted, but otherwise, I've gotten through fairly intact so far without using a lot of healing items. That doesn't mean that state will last for the rest of the game, though, which is why I asked. Perhaps it's worth doing the other way - training my Priest in Mage spells...? Hmm.
  12. I'm not sure what you mean by the first sentence. The only priest spells worth getting, you mean? And if my mage only has 1 level of Priest Spells, does that mean it's not worth developing?
  13. I thought so! How much exploring will I need to do to find my way to the objective? I assume it won't be quite as obnoxious as the EFTP one was? The fighter is Divinely Touched, so he has 12 Parry and 17 Blademaster already. As for other stats, some of the more relevant ones: 8 STR and 6 DEX... 7 Melee Weapon, 4 Quick Action, 3 Quick Strike, 9 Luck and 8 Hardiness, 1 Resistance. I think those are the highlights. Oh! And I was trying to figure out whether to use the 10 points on my nephil mage to increase INT (at 10 now) or further develop Priest spells for her. Thoughts?
  14. So I'm about to defeat the southeast slaver ring and finally enter Formello. I anticipate that mission to be full of nastiness - I envision something like the game-ending assassination in EFTP. Am I close? I defeat enemies in the area with relatively little issue (though if I go in the wrong way against those demon/summoner/acolyte groups, I do have problems) - will Formello be significantly harder? Before I do, I want to do some character development. My lead character has 23 unspent skill points (partly because I fed him wisdom stuff because he's my lockpicker). He's one of my two lead melee fighters, the more defensive one (because he has a shield; the other, the slith, dual wields). He's from the Thief template, IIRC, so he has some archery skill. He was the first to 10 Endurance (though he, like the slith, is as dumb as a rock with 2 INT), and has some advanced skills unlocked. What should I look at to buy for him?
  15. OK, I've turned in two Spider quests. Now I have to decide to get the egg or not. Since I never have to return (as far as I can tell/know), maybe I'll just go and do it, and call it a Schrodinger's Spider situation...
