To clarify, I was only expressing my surprise by that question. And the surprise I was trying to express was that such a trifling thing as that (as considered to be, by me) could be so disturbing/irritating to another user that the person creates a big hullabaloo over it, asking everyone to stop doing it. I should have realized that people don't think alike. But I don't think Future Wonderbolt has taken offense.

I'm sorry Wonderbolt, but I don't see why people using special characters in their PDNs is worth making a big fuss over. Why do you call this 'attention-seeking' behaviour ? Human beings are born attention-seekers. We all crave recognition, we want people to ooh and aah at us. That's why we wear good clothes (better, better, better than the rest of those around us). Using special characters in PDNs is similar; just see it as having a different hairstyle. The crux of your post is that such PDNs are harder to read, and that it's difficult to keep track of who's who. I agree, but does this really merit a 'request' to all members to avoid using them ? I like stylish special characters. I just don't like it showing up as garbage in the post area (when you're quoted by someone). Now that does create some confusion, but that's all there is to it. People won't recognize me if I use them ? Fine by me; that's your problem, and I deserve being ignored as I brought this upon myself.

I use cheats for convenience. I mean, take a case where you've just finished a battle and are low on hp and essence. You can walk all the way to the end of the zone, get to a friendly town and return. Or you can just bring up the Whadya Want box and type in the codes. No need to feel guilty about it, as you aren't using them to gain an unfair advantage.

I found some really nice ones. 1) Earth Empires doesn't punctuate. 2) Trenton is 13. 3) Goldenking uses on the message's top-left icon when he posts.

eh what's going on over here. Childish. As for 3D movies, I love them. I keep the 3D glasses with me even after the show, so I can take it to the next 3D film!

Huh. Nothing beats the humble Fyora. All my creations are Fyoras. I loved them, named them and I kept them throughout each game. (I would have switched to Cryoas if only they weren't so blue.)

Rotgroth(s) aren't zombies, but are they 'undead' in the true sense of the term ? They can be abominations; old, dead left over body parts of other creations mindlessly patched together with a bucket of acid thrown in, by some mad shaper. I seem to recall reading somewhere that only with-brain creations can be Charmed (Now, I hope that wasn't Exile/Avernum). Rotgroth can be charmed, so they're alive aren't they ?

I've been thinking about this for quite some time. The image I've used as my avatar (the Fyora) is the one which is inside Spiderweb Software's main website, from the Geneforge Creations page. I've directly linked my avatar URL to that image. Question : Will this have a negative impact on the SS website ? My reasoning is : 100 members look at this topic. So my avatar image will have to be loaded on 100 different computers. And each time, the browser will have to request this image from the SW server (spiderwebsoftware.com). This will overload the server, thus making it slower and eventually -if enough people look at this topic- causing a breakdown. Is my reasoning correct ? And if not, what is it that really happens ?
