Sorry, to answer your question, I'm not sure what else needs to be done, but I'm sure I need the broaches. I got the orb and the gesture and went through the two keeps of Black Spire but got out on the peninsula and it said my quest was in vain.

Ah ok, thanks. Reputation, had no idea. Probably still too low.

I must have done something in the wrong order, now I'm stuck. I went through all the dialog options. I think I have the same issue as in this post. He says he edited the script. I wonder what needs to be done to fix it.

Could someone point me to a spoiler that includes how I can get the requisite training in using the portals system? First post, enjoying the old fashioned RPG style of these games.
