  1. Well, I sent an email to Spiderweb Software a few hours ago that basically contained what I posted here. I am awaiting a response from them now. Hopefully, they are aware of the problem and will provide a fix soon.

The only other option, I can see is to try to create a DEP exception for the application. I will try that now and update when I have a result.

*UPDATE* Windows 7 will not allow me to add the application to the DEP exception list.

    Quote:
This program must run with data execution protection (DEP) enabled.

You cannot turn off DEP for this program.

Oh well, it was worth a shot. The only thing to do now is to wait for a fix. This sucks because I really want to play these games in order!

  2. I also purchased the Avernum: The Great Trials Trilogy bundle on Steam. I am posting the error message that I receive after updating my Steam client and trying to run Avernum 4 and 5.

I notice that the error message I receive is nearly identical from the OP. I hope that someone from Spiderweb Software reads this and are able to help in this matter.

Should I contact support or should I just wait for a fix?

*UPDATE* I forgot to mention I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit w/SP1, with all of the current hotfixes applied.

    Thank you!
