  1. There definetly is for the early games, if that is at point. I also confirmed this on gamefaqs. I do not know about the later games, I want to start at no#1 and work my way through. BTW, no worries about the greeting (no hard feelings beer and oil). It was a bit strange, lol, though I get it now. I actually like it now, that we can accept a few of our quirky traits is good. Quote: The most common insanity here seems to be obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) that manifests in compiling of lists and the collection of items in the game no matter that they are worthless. Ha, I was collecting javelins to sell until I realised it was only 20 gold for 6 of them. I had 60, but they weighed a ton and my character only had 2AP for battles due to encumberance. Lucky my roamers take care of most enemie by themselves .
  2. You can push 'space' to skip a characters turn, but they will not get another turn until the next round. The game has a manual included, you click instructions on the main menu. I am talking about Geneforge 1, I haven't played the others yet but I am sure 'space' would still be used to skip a characters turn.
  3. Don't know what to make of that comment. If you think my writing is strange you should remember that people can and do think differently without meeting any objective definition of "insane". So yeah, really would have preferred you not post if you have nothing positive to add. You might scare off other people who love the game and came here to share their experience...
  4. I have Skyrim, got it day one, I am level 14 or something ...just after the first dragon battle. I haven't played it since. Soon after I tried Kingdoms of Amalur, same thing, played it for a while before the quest were all just hack and fetch. I had also tried online rpg's for the first time. I tried Rift and Wow. They are not my thing. Battles are so boring that I almost try to tune them out to focus on the loot, which is never rewarding. Oh and don't get me started on Mass Effect. Yeah, like I want to explore space as a military man "lets conquer space, derp". They felt like boring, dumb-downed action games. Quick hacking, no real strategy... or fun. Then I saw the Geneforge saga and Avernum. I could get the WHOLE saga, and the latest, Avernum for under $30. GOLD!. What can I say. The drought is broken. I recently found a quote from Vogel that sums-up my feelings exactly. Quote: Jeff: You seem to assume that there is no longer a demand for an in-depth, tactical role-playing game with a rich world and storyline. Luckily for me, this is not the case. As the big AAA publishers have decided to only make RPGs that are action games with stat-building stuck on, I have continued to cater to the old-school role-playing game fan. Those people totally still exist, even if the big publishers have forgotten about them. I started at the beginning. Geneforge 1. The graphics are not a problem at all, I don't think they need updating at all. The game is addictive and clearing an area is satisfying and fun. The story is very thought-provoking. Is this a metaphor for humanities abandonment by our creators? Do we be like the Obeyers, Takers or Awakened. When I got to the Tombs I realised that this may be one of the best RPG's I have ever played (I didn't like Diablo or Baldurs gate for some reason, meaning Geneforge is my top PC rpg.) My roamers were quickly killed by fire, after killing the "exploding roamers". I thought; wouldn't it be great if one of my creatures had a higher fire resistance, like they all have their own complexities. Jeff apparently thought the same thing, because moments later I was cutting through the Tombs like butter with my fire-resistant Fyoras. Sweet!, this is how an RPG should be. This is Gold. I have spent hours since Avernum's release playing this(decided to complete Genforge first). Whole-time in-the-zone, no trying to pretend your not clicking the same button against the same creature for the thousandth time to get that menial and degrading amount of loot or exp. Isn't that what school was for? So this game is therefore more entertaining, yet cheaper than Skyrim. I don't even think about Skyrim, I am not seeking anymore. I am stuck into a game for the first time in years! I cancelled my Diablo 3 preorder (yes, seriously), I wish I could spend the cash on a Geneforge or Spiderweb games shirt... BTW, I am new to the forums, so hello to all, my name is loalog and I'm a fan
