  1. Oh yeah! I do remember that about the Geneforge itself. Honestly, a lot of the endings seemed excellent. Tho I forget what happened with that other shaper guy. I never successfully finished Geneforge 2. The way items had weight in your inventory just made it unplayable for me. Looking forward to that remake maybe more so than this one even. But first thing's first! Cannot wait until February.
  2. I tried to see if this was already somewhere and I found a non-spoiler thread but not this. Apologies if it exists. Anyway: I am very excited about Geneforge Mutagen. Especially all the creations you can make. If the ending rules are the same as for Geneforge 1, should I expect the number of canisters I have used to have a large effect on the game's ending? Geneforge 4 had it such that if you used more than (I think?) 7, you got endings mentioning you were more unstable. That's actually a really cool mechanic and if anything, I'd like it to be in Mutagen. But at the same time, if there are no Shaper trainers on the island so the only way to get new skills, with a few exceptions, is via canisters, I doubt I'll be using that few of them. The artila is a personal favorite and I don't know what it's advanced form is but I know I want to find out, and the drayk/cryodrayk are personal favorites. Glaark's are cool too. Battle Alphas and Thaad's are neat. Clawbugs are cute little guys. You got the good old reliable fyora. The list goes on. Was there a number of canisters in the original Geneforge 1 that caused endings to go south or not so much?
  3. Huh. I did not realize the software was free. If that's the case, I could pursue this. I'll download it sometime this week and play around with some free sample model (it must come with one). Then if that looks promising, I'll buy the drayk model. Artists got to get paid.
  4. Hey guys, I really blew it and forgot to report what I found here. It seems the drayk sprite is from here https://www.daz3d.com/hatchling-dragon But from there on, I'm stuck (which I guess is why I forgot to post). I don't know if you need special software to render this or if buying it would give you a common 3D file type. And even then, I'm not sure if it would be legal to 3D print a model people are charging for. But that does seem to be the model.
  5. I contacted Spiderweb Software support and will update once they answer. Thank you for the Spore link, Ess-Eschas. I'll give it a look if Jeff doesn't have the model.
  6. Oh... it seems the drayk is also my profile pic. I had forgotten that.
  7. Hi. Geneforge has been one of my favorite games since I first played it in high school and in particular I've loved the look of the creations you can make. Of those the drayk is by far my favorite. I know he's kind of dumpy with his big head and little vestigial wings but I love him. I've been wondering for a while if there's a way to take all of the sprites of the idle drayk standing still (this is the game file G1790.bmp) and make a 3D model out of it. I know 3D printing services have gotten quite good. I was also wondering if maybe Jeff Vogel just had a 3D file for this? I'm not sure how he originally made the sprites.
  8. Hey guys, can I ask about the original question here. Is there a peaceful way to get into the Spiral using the password the shade asks you about? Where you get it? I got to the point where Nathalie is in that location but... despite killing so many NPC's so far (Redbeard is ice cold), I just want to make sure there's no other way.
  9. This is a huge bump but it should be noted that Jeff confirmed remakes, here: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/1idaq1/i_am_jeff_vogel_founder_of_spiderweb_software/ No real news; just as predicted, the remakes would take a while. It is noteworthy that they will be on tablets though. Very much looking forward to this, will recommend it to all of my friends.
  10. I very much like your artwork. Particularly the shaper on the raft. Off-topic but whatever.
  11. Geneforge 4 Trakovite Bad Ending here: http://s1365.photobucket.com/user/tristram12/library/ Adding the final two images now. (let me know if this doesn't work)
  12. Can someone here please help me out? I wanted to get the images for the Geneforge 4 Trakovite Ending where you don't get executed, but it turns out they're nowhere on the internet and my standing is just too good with the shapers for the drakons to let me go. At this point, the only way to not get executed would be to play the game all over again. If anyone has a save where they have great standing with the rebels (someone should), can you take the screenshots and post them? I only need the final 1 or 2 (the ones after "you wonder if you'll live to find out"). I'll post the rest myself in a bit and then link to them.
  13. That worked! Skein of Wisdom now gives +10 to create Drakon. Sadly, as I already knew, the new drakon design is not that great. I guess Jeff was trying to make them look more corrupt instead of like adorable dragons but... the Drayk will always be number one in my eyes. Still, thanks. Now I can do all sorts of stuff. Like turn the skein of wisdom into a super charm for the guardian/warrior, who has always been my favorite class but significantly underpowered. Maybe a +5 to Str, End, Pa, and QA will change that...
  14. I guess it is possible to make 7 top tier creations, but more difficult than in G4. I just managed to make 7 War Thralls but it took 24 Int (even with the gruesome charm and skein of wisdom, that's a lot of skill points). Now, just to reaffirm: is it really only possible to make the ur-drakon if you play anti-Ghaldring and even then only in the last area? I've read the post but that just seems cruel. If so, who wants to explain how Cheat Engine's Cheat Tables work? I tried the G5 one, but am not seeing any difference in my character, so I'm probably doing it wrong.
  15. Hmm... as long as I'm here: has anyone seen a difference in the amount of essence we have? My G4 lifecrafter could make 7 drakons by the endgame. My G5 lifecrafter is currently at a higher level but can only make 3 Rotghizon's, 2 Kyssaks, a Drayk, and a Plated Clawbug. It's a good group, but it can't possibly cost the same amount of essence. So: what is the greatest number of drakons (or creature of similar essence) you can make, and at what level?
  16. Yes, but my main concern is that (of the two) Rawal definitely deserves to die. Still, the point is moot since I'm currently playing the Ghaldring faction so he'll be gone soon. Um... what's the deal with Akhari Blaze again? I played G4 but didn't get past isle 3 in G3 so all I know is that he's the guy in the lab that you either kill or help.
  17. Crap. I have meant to answer this since Dec. 23rd. Ok, by now, I bet you know, but for future forum users: go to the left fork next to the main room and you'll see a machine there. Use that to... do something. There's only like 2 options and I think they were straightforward. Then release the purity agent in a now weaker form and run like hell. Again, it's in the little corridor that's to the left of the main room where you've been trying so far.
  18. B-but why killing Greta? She is so awesome (well, she was awesome in G4. Here...). And Rawal is such a s******* (to what extent are we allowed to curse on this forum? I think Rawal deserves it). How on earth does killing a rebel leader give Rawal less power? Crap... if I have to choose between Greta and Rawal... ugh...
  19. Ok, I think we can agree at this point that there are different theories that all have validity. Frankly, I would be willing to accept the PC from G1, G2, G3... clearly not G4. Point is, maybe Jeff did intend to leave it up to the player. After all, he seems to be giving us JUST enough information to NOT know for certain. Seems a bit too perfectly done to be a coincidence. Maybe this is his way of saying, "You have not only the freedom of deciding how the series ends, but also the freedom of deciding what ultimately happened to all the previous characters." And that's a good thing on his part. I think I'll leave it as is, personally, but there have been some great theories here.
  20. Ok, I can't find this online. Someone mentioned that if we play our cards right, we can stop Rawal from becoming leader. How?
  21. Speaking of this, I didn't want to start a new topic for such a simple question, but how does the balance for creations look? Correct me if I'm wrong, but after I made my first drayk (I always make these as quickly as I possibly can) I realized that it was at about the same power level as a Cryora, with +1 to some stats and -1 to a few others. I decided to keep it throughout my first playthough and it did quite well, aside from the obvious weakness to magic. Anyone else seen similar little changes in creation strength? The Cryora has never been this powerful before.
  22. Wait, wait, why not combine the G3 PC with the Drypeak information? Going to Drypeak doesn't mean being from G2, it just means walking to Drypeak. What if G3 PC left the party at some point in the journey and headed over to Drypeak, because the rebellion started there and was worth investigating? By then, she (due to all G3 artwork, we can assume the canon story involves playing agent) had been heavily modified. At Drypeak, she either goes crazy, or finds a huge stash of canisters (we have found stranger things in this series) and goes crazy. Maybe she finds Glamdring. After all, who says Litalia was the only character the drakons shaped huge amounts of power into? Maybe they went on the drakonian logic of "Well, shaping this one lady this much still left her sane. Let's shape this new one even more." Then you go crazy and found by Rawal, etc. This combines knowing Greta, Alwan, and Drypeak. Also, it may explain the presence of the Sorceress class (which due to artwork we can also assume is canon). The reason Jeff never included Strong magic average shaping before was because it would be too powerful. Now let's look at that character: You started out as an Agent in canon G3, got heavily modified (more powerful). The sorceress is intended to be a more powerful version of the agent class. So it all fits.
  23. A bit of a bump but whatever. Just to throw something in: Don't both Alwan and Greta claim to have seen the main character before? I don't have the exact quote but Greta mentions it amusingly, implying that the character was either G3 Pro-rebel or G4 Pro-rebel (I'm leaning towards the former). Alwan mentions the character briefly, but doesn't really remember much implying that he didn't travel with the character for long, as would be the case if it was G3 Pro-rebel and Alwan left the group early. Don't get me wrong, the G2 ending seems very strong, but has anyone explained away this little thorn in the side?
