NO Creation Play-through on Torment Possible?[G5]

I tend to find the Essence Shield/Armour spells more powerful than the Augmentation spell (since you have to choose betwixt them), and for the aura I would usually go with regeneration. -
NO Creation Play-through on Torment Possible?[G5]

Oooof. I'm not wholly sure. Geneforge 5 is probably the one I've played least (excepting 4 - nothing against them, it's just that I've probably only played them a couple times vs. the dozen or so times I've played the first three). Obviously, this isn't strict advice, it's just what I went with. Personally, I went with servile (though infiltrator could also work for my strategy). Lots of mechanics and leadership, parry, quick action, melee, and mental magic (daze is a lifesaver more often than not, since it affects all nearby enemies and not just one, and dominate does wonders for getting an enemy to take heat off you). In combat I remember having a tendency to acid/poison/lightning enemies a lot (I feel like there's one I'm missing, but I'm not remembering what. A physical one?). I never bothered with missile weapons, so crystals were largely useless to me, though I occasionally had decent results. Someone would disagree, I'm sure. This ended up being a blessing, 'cause going solo meant I didn't have to stock up on spores, either, so I always had plenty of inventory space. Well...not always, by endgame I was pretty loaded up on charms. Someone's probably gonna come in and tell me my strategy is dumb and needlessly hard, which might be true, but I enjoyed it. Oh, and canisters don't make as huge a difference in 5 as they did in the other 4 since Click to reveal.. your character is already heavily modified from before you started playing the game, so the canister effects only really make a difference at one point in the southern desert area as you cross the bridge. Forget the name of the place. So I went crazy with them! -
It seems like it, but I haven't checked the code. I would but, you know, effort.

That's funny, my first cRPG was Exile III. Before that was Pokemon and Zelda. -
NO Creation Play-through on Torment Possible?[G5]

Yes, it is. I play no creations and Torment because A) I like the challenge and I will stab anything that steals my experience points away from me, even if it has unwavering loyalty to me. Prepare to save often and re-load even more. -
Totally do the iron quest; the experience alone is worth it. Also, save gemstones and emeralds, there's a man wandering around Fort Muck who will buy them from you. Shaper notes can be sold off in Gheth if you're allied with the Barzites, and you can sell Shaper equipment to a merchant in Medab. I haven't played Geneforge 2 in years. ._.

If you betrayed the Sencia, the servile spy in Drypeak, the shopkeepers will not have any dealings with you.

The last thing I read was Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter, which I only grabbed because someone in the bookstore filed it under non-fiction. Spoiler: Abraham Lincoln actually freed the slaves because vampires were eatin' black people like, left and right.

That's gonna be some wait. -
This might be spoilery, I dunno what constitutes a spoiler around here. The amusing thing is mostly that said 'dude' is a woman. There's three collection quests if I remember correctly in Geneforge 2 - Sharon (in Sharon's Grove), Learned Darian (in Darian's Sanctuary near Gheth), and Lindian (at the Marsh Crossroads, just east of Fort Muck. Sharon wants purified essence, a drayk tendon, and a perfect crystal. The purified essence can be found behind her house, as well as elsewhere, and the perfect crystal is in a nearby crystal cavern being hoarded by a drayk. In return, she'll make a nice little ring that boosts leadership, mechanics, and dexterity. Darian makes the Emerald Chestguard, one of my favourite armours. He wants a glaahk scale (one can be found at the nearby Creation Holding cells just below the pass), some Demon's Claws (various places, I forget where), and a battle gamma skin, which won't be found till you reach Outer Gazak-Uss. Lindian wants purified essence, black crystal powder (which is found in the Crystal Mine directly southeast of Medab) and a flawless glaahk scale. As for enchantments, you'll see if a crystal enchants armour/weaponry by looking at the information. It'll say if it provides an enchantment or not.

Read this in the other Avadon thread - it works! Yay! My life is full of yay! ...only now that I've figured it out, it's bedtime... Tomorrow is yay! Tomorrow is full of so much yay!

Pull the other one, it's got bells on. Bugger all, nothing's working. Oh, well, time to go fire off an email to our dear Jeff himself, see if he's got anything to say on it.

Mmph. Tried that, first in my downloads folder and then my desktop, but it's still doing the same exact thing. I just typed out a lot of words having to do with excretion, copulation, and genitalia, but deleted them again because I'd rather not be banned.

I did. I uninstalled and re-downloaded it to the same effect.

I don't recall exactly when that changed, but I suppose it's Jeff's way of protecting us from our own baser tendencies. Or to draw fire. There's those three spinecores under the lake in 5 (I forget what the area is called - the underground railroad-type passage for the rebels) that would nail me to the wall if I ran in unprotected, so I would create a horde of Fyoras to draw fire while I pretended to be the weedwhacker in the garden of evil.

GeneForge 5, sad to see it go. (Or maybe not?)[G5]

Oh, there not being a sixth one. I'm quite sorry, I'm very tired. I was trying to think up a proper reply but the whole duck-costume bit threw me off (as ducks are wont to do). -

Well, bugger to that I say. I ought to go find Jeff's house and glare balefully at his front door until he makes a sixth one. -

I downloaded the Avadon demo tonight, yet when I try to access it the screen either blacks out (if I open it in its own window) or whites out (if I go full screen) and then is closed by Data Execution Protection. My drivers are up to date, I've tried restarting the computer, uninstalling and re-installing Avadon, and putting Avadon on the DEP whitelist - but when I try to do that last one, it says: "This program must run with data execution protection (DEP) enabled. You cannot turn off DEP for this program." With only an 'okay' to press. I didn't really want to press that okay, because I was not okay with this, but the computer was quite adamant that I press okay and would not let me do anything unless I grudgingly admitted okay. I'm using Windows Vista on a Toshiba Satellite P205D laptop. (A friend gave me this computer; this is just another in a long line of incidents that make me want to run back to suckle on the teat of my Apple)
