  2. Given that Apple had the thinnest, lightest CEO out of any computer company, being able to fit him in something isn't a good measure of size any more.
  3. We Learn to Swim By Watching You Drown
  4. I am very disappointed that this isn't a thread about Robot Jones.
  5. I don't believe they were active in any of the first three. I'm not sure about 4 and 5, though.
  6. Rawal wasn't above making canisters, and he had probably had some of his own he had taken. He certainly showed signs of it (power madness and no compassion). And if that's true, Tryg (which is certainly could be), then it only plays into what I'm saying.
  7. But...but...but...I liked being able to get in where I shouldn't and loot early...
  8. Only need to raise it to 4? That's my problem! I want to go hire, but the game won't let me, and it won't stack, either. It's frustrating.
  9. He kept resources from other Shapers - he was a Shaper unto himself, and had several Shapers (the female Guardian, the PC, and I believe another Shaper) serving under him, so those four shapers could indeed make a huge difference. A Shaper is an army, no?
  10. The S&K songs that caught my attention were The Beautiful People (Manson) and Black Horse and a Cherry Tree (K.T. Tunstall). The rest tends to bore me, especially since the conductor acts so over the top it's a distraction from the performance. Raising Sand is excellent, and I'm glad you pointed out Nina Hagen's version of Seemann - that's an excellent song. No, S&M doesn't count. Like Jim says, it's still Metallica. Melanie Safka's cover of anything is almost always superior to the original. Ruby Tuesday (especially her 90's version which I'm seemingly incapable of finding...) blows away the Rolling Stone's version by a thousand times; has ten times the passion that Ronstadt's ever did. I'm So Blue, Detroit or Buffalo, - all beautiful, beautiful songs. Richie Havens happens to do my single favourite version of I've ever heard, though to be fair, I've never heard a bad version of it. I love both Rammstein's version of , as well as the of it. And on that subject, I also love the Gregorian version of , as well as version of the same song. Still on the subject of Rammstein, Mina Harker's version of is pretty great, even if I'm not a *huge* fan of Laibach's bits. I love Erasure's covers of Abba, the winners being , and . I've also been listening to a *lot* of cello covers lately (not really counting Apocalyptica here, 'cause while I love the idea most of their stuff is largely forgettable). Some favourites have been Smooth Criminal, Welcome to the Jungle, , this INCREDIBLE version of done in Swahili, , , and ... ...but while I'm on the topic of cellos...I may as well start bringing up some excellent Zelda covers, since Zelda is my favourite series of all time and the music has indelibly affected my life. So experience: , Cello Ensemble on wine glasses on beer bottles I think I'll stop now. I tend to overpost when it comes to music.
  11. Greta is out doing things. Alwan was, as well, until he was grievously injured in his service. So, I do have great respect for them. Not only does Rawal do nothing himself, he offers no support and spends none of his power and supplies on fixing the problem - merely upon staying in power. He is a politician to the core. Alwan gets things done. Astoria gets things done, even if she's doing it from the comfort of her throne room - she's using her power and her connections to get things done. Rawal does none of that.
  12. I prefer someone who actually does something rather than sits back and lets the rest of the world do their work for them, yes.
  13. In the long term, the human race's total effect will be precisely nil.
  14. I like him because he's quite good at being manipulative; I dislike him because he's a coward. That dislike ends up outweighing my admiration for him.
  15. Turns out the wiki blackout had some pretty big effect: http://boingboing.net/2012/01/19/how-the-internet-blackout-affe.html
  16. I don't believe any of the Shaper endings left him out of power, actually.
  17. I knew I saw this topic somewhere! Also, Trygvassen, something about your signature makes me uneasy. I'm not sure why.
  18. I could have sworn I just saw this thread with replies in it. Notably that he's dying, and so his drug addiction is given a pass since he's going to kick the bucket soon anyways.
  19. What I believe I did was to go into combat and arrange each character individually.
  20. Ron Paul is actually fairly terrifying. A more politically astute acquaintance of mine said it more succinctly than I ever could. Quote: His stance on states rights would be awesome to behold in real life, the seething undercurrents of racism and classism would erupt into riots in the states and eventually maybe a certain few environmentally conscious states would declare civil war on polluting flyover states. His isolationism would render so many servicemen and arms development staff unemployed it would send U6 back to Depression levels. Personally, I'm voting for .
  21. Really guys? It's pretty easy to find a wikipedia article on google and find the cache.
  22. In that first one if you position one party member by the gate and another in the shadowy corner by the cage you can snatch up those coins in there.
  23. I hope Facebook joins in. My devastation alone will be enough. But I really hope Google/Youtube joins that blackout. It will effectively shut down the entire internet.
