OP here. Thanks- I finally got out!

So, I just killed Ogran the Ogre and I want to go back to Alyse and then back to Zethron. Problem is that I can't get back out. The gate is closed and the the gate pulley system is rusted. I am sure that there is an easy answer to this. Any thoughts? thanks!
