I think that the only things that should be taken as canon are the rulers from Sol I to Prazac, as there is an easy established history and accurate timeline there. TM, don't snap at Thuryl. Just because other people have different ideas about the history that aren't as original and creative doesn't mean that they're inferior. And Aixo is now force of habit.

The declining Empire was part of the original arena (Lord Arkanor, anyone?). Part of what led to its downfall were the Centurion Avengers which sent Valorim and parts of Doston into unrest with organized competent rebellions. I've looked over this topic and I will give more thoughts over the next week or so.

I'd put Blackcrag's establishment at around 634 now. Tinraya at 641. Gale at 652. Lorelei at 658. Sharimik at 663. Shayder at 600. Krizsan at 700. This is how I see it: (Male descendants of Prazac are Hawthornes, females are Prazacs.) Also, I don't like tomorrow belonging to Echoes. *i, if you come back to this topic, where would you place tCa/nCA? Your timeline is massively wrong. Check my reply in the other topic.

Sol I started on Pralgrad at around 50. Ironclad I was the first to successfully begin elimination of non-humans from Pralgrad. The Ironclads went up to XIII. Also, it would be 10 rulers between Prazac and Tahvan I. I'd say Hawthorne I began ruling around 720 and discovered Exile around 740. Hawthorne II started rule around 765, and Erika et al. were sent down around 770. Hawthorne III began ruling around 790 and began to send people down en masse. There's more I have about the reign of the Ironclads, and the line of Emperors that discovered Pralgrad (the line before Sol).
-
I'd put it at around 600 to 610 - it gave them a foothold for domination of Valorim. Tinraya and Footracer were probably destroyed in 832. EDIT: Rather, it may be as late as 650 as it may have taken them quite some time to clear out the Nephilim from Footracer/Monroe provinces.
-
That's right, it was Ironclad, not Ironfist. That line turned out to be quite long, like the Louis line in France. The Ironclad line cleansed Pralgrad of non-humans. Sol had tried to attack them, but they weren't strong enough. The ones on Aixo were taken care of from -150 to -50.

I'm not positive, but I would presume so.

Vantanas and Pralgrad are smaller. The isthmus connects to Pralgrad about one section east of the center at the bottom. Look at the map I linked to. The map I have is not from AtG. I'd surmise that there were 15 emperors or empresses between Prazac and Tavhan. 100 years is too long - 20-40 is much more reasonable. Avernum 3 takes place in 833, so are there any dates in AtG?
-
The calendar used in E3 is calculated from the movement of the capital from Aizo to Pralgrad. There was a reign of Ironfist emperors from about 200-500. This was the time of the Anama War and the intial discovery of Valorim. Around 600, the Empire started their assault against Valorim Nephilim led by Ratbane.
-
What typo? It's Pralgrad. And yes, perhaps my placement of the continents is a bit off. And TM, I hope that your creation of the empire is not loony.
-
All of those events you mention fit under category IV. I think category IV could be Hawthorne I to Hawthorne III (the one we assassinate in Exile I) along with Prazac.
-
The Anama War belongs in section II.
-
Placement of continents: Pralgrad is connected to Valorim by an isthmus. Aixo is east of the isthmus and Vantanas is south of Aixo.

Oh, and if you want a better map of Pralgrad: http://staff.desperance.net/alec/pralgad-politic.gif Ignore the colors - those are factions and not climate thingies. There are no equatorial areas on Ermarian except for part of Doston and a little bit of southern Aixo.

Quote: Oh, and a geography would also be helpful, like a total world map with an explanation as to what each continent contains, what its climate is and so on. This would mainly be an aid to designers who want to be consistent with the world. Aizo is temperate grassland with large central mountain ranges and a few forests. Pralgrad is similar. Valorim is obvious. Vantanas is like the Amazon.

A map of Vantanas:

I'll have the names of rulers of the Empire, the chronological order of all the events, whether certain technological advances were around at a given time, whether certain things were feasible, etc.

I can be a historical/technical advisor, and I can write the part about the Anama War. Also, even though this will go nowhere publishing-wise, it's always good to have a resource posted online where people can take a look for reference.

Two scenarios about the First Visitation is not a bad thing.

I only went up to the first chaining of Grah-Hoth. After that, everything's in the exile games.

The Empire as we know it originated on Aizo. The humans developed a civilization, cities, and more. There they fought against the giants, nephilim, and troglodytes and wiped them out. They developed boats and sailed in search of other continents. They discovered Pralgad and Vantanas. Vantanas was just a jungle to them, but Pralgad was much more hospitable. The Empire made war with the tribes on Pralgad and took them over. Pralgad offered a better environment for crops and was much less mountainous, so they settled there and moved the capital to Pralgad. Eventually they returned to Vantanas and began to clear some of the forest. They discovered its rich mineral deposits and spices and rich trading companies sprang up. Around this time, the Anama faith was embroiled in a bitter conflict with the Empire, and they were slaughtered. The remaining Anama fled, eventually ending up on the Isle of Bigail. South of Pralgad was Valorim, a land ruled by the vicious Ratbane clan of Nephilim. The Empire constructed Blackcrag Fortress at the southern end of the isthmus connected Pralgad and Valorim and began to mount attacks. After about 50-75 years, the Nephilim were overwhelmed and the cities of Gale and Lorelei were established. At this point, Hawthorne I was the Emperor. His court mages discovered the system of caves beneath the surface, and he sent an expedition. The expedition was led by Thralni, and some of the other members were Scrioth, Karzoth, and Korthax. This expedition was slaughtered, "to a man and a woman." After Hawthorne I's death his son, Hawthorne II, came to power. He began to send down violent and dangerous criminals of the foulest sort, instead of executing them. At this point, there was a power struggle among the mages, and Garzahd and his cronies won and appointed him the advisor to Hawthorne II. Hawthorne II sent these mages down to Exile, including Erika, Rone, Solberg, Aimee, and Patrick. When Hawthorne II died and Hawthorne III came to power, Garzahd remained his advisor. Hawthorne III saw the portal to Exile as the answers to all of society's troubles. All the misfits, antisocials, petty lawbreakers, and more were sent down to Exile. And this proved to be his undoing. Exile's History: After the first few people were sent down, they established a city and began to fight the demons and sliths that threatened them. When the mages were sent down, they were able to help stage an assault on Grah-Hoth, and they captured him in a bottle and stored him in Akhronath, with the lich-ified Prince Hrothar, who had fallen in the battle, to watch over him. When Micah was sent down, he worked closely with the archmages to establish a society. They created glowing mushrooms, built more cities, learned to fight, and they took over the caves.

Or how about not at all. Imaginations are good, although they can sometimes go too far. *cough* Echoes.
