Hi,

This is my first exposure to Spiderweb games and I am quite enjoying it.

I have just killed Duke Gryfyn but find the pillar to Avadon is trapped behind locked gates.

I keep being attacked by bands of soldiers, which is annoying but not fatal but have not found a way to open the gate. What do I do next?

I did find the secret chest with the letter, but have not found a way to the back gate to the pillar room (which looks shut to me anyway).

Playing on an iPad and despite regular 'low memory' warnings it is very smooth and playable.

I will be picking up some of the Avernum games on PC once I finish Avadon.
