I tried crossing some water that was only one square wide in a straight line...no success

I was so stoked when I finally got the orb. But now I can't get it to work. I can activate it and see the wing icon on my party members but then I can't go anywhere except where I would normally go. When I try it says "that desination is obstructed" Please help!!!!!

Hi! I am in The Drake Pillars outside of the main town at a door with a sign out front "Keep out! Sealed by order of Mayor Kilgore" The door says it has a magical lock and when I cast the spell "Unlock door" the game crashes and takes me back to the desktop. I am running on a new iMac and have not had any previous problems with this game or Avadon. Any help?? Thanks much! Tabascocat1
