An option would be have it take two touches like a dialogue box. A settings option of declaring a left hand or right hand preference which would make the pop up always on the opposite side might also be and option.

T he character labels etc are located underneath the items on the screen and are blocked by your finger or pointing device. Some of this could be solved by moving the label to above the object on the screen.. Also on the character upgrade screen the skills descriptions are blocked by your hand as you hold the icon to see the affects. An option to choose which side they are displayed on would help the user put them where they can see them.
