Paper documents are less of a strain on the eyes, and they are probably more comfortable as well, It's still desirable to have an e-copy of everything but paper documents aren't totally pointless either, I store everything I need in e-form but given a choice I prefer the paper versions.

And clay tablets are too heavy, plus they take a lot of space .

I think the other games can be played on newer OS's too you just need to ask a technical guy how, I suppose someone here could help you,

also the engines didn't really appear dated to me too initially but it's a different thing when the newer A:eftp and Avadon have spoiled you, but yes you are right 50% off is very very good value.

You know If you don't want to wait you could always try original A2 and A3 , while the engine is pretty old and you will probably not like it, you just might. The demos are in any case free and they are huge demos too, you could also get 50% off on them in the month of November.

I am not sure, it's either an error where they have put on today's date instead of the release or maybe they mean 2002, I am pretty sure the game is not coming out today .

The A2 remake will be coming after Avadon 2 so it's about a year away, avernum 3 will probably come after Avadon's third part so it will probably come in anywhere from 2.5-3 years.

I suspect that it's because a retrainer could break the game's balance, for example you could go with an entirely physical party against enemies weak against physical attacks, and vice-versa for enemies weak against magic,you could give your party a huge amount of whatever lore you needed and then reallocate the points to combat, In Avadon the skills in which a character can train is fixed, you can't really have 3 shadow walkers or shamans fighting for you in spite of the retrainer, thus it might not be such a terrible idea after all.

Has Jeff announced that it's a trilogy? All I remember seeing is that there will be sequels. Given his record, "trilogy" may not mean much either.

Probably not, but everyone is convinced that it is going to be at least a trilogy, and nobody is really sure what is coming after the remake of A3 is done, that's why i said for now, but yep that could very well change.

The game says that you can't cast mage spells while wearing too much armor, however I just noticed that my archer-mage can cast mage spells when he is wearing some armor along with a cave wood longbow(weight- 4 lbs., doesn't provide any armor) but can't cast them with EXACTLY THE SAME ARMOR if I am using a lemon wood bow(weight-2.5 lbs., doesn't provide any armor either) , Is that a bug or is there some reason for it?

No, I didn't actually knew that, I thought VP will also have some degree of influence like 25% or so, well that makes it a lot less cool, but It could still be funny.

Now I am hoping for that to happen, don't think that I am a bad person who wants a stalemate in every single US policy, but it will be just really really amusing.

1. Inferior is not the same thing as that of useless, secondly it is inferior to only Dual wielding, It is for sure better than Poles and Single wielding, why do you want to fire at someone right next to you, just take a step back and fire, the enemies will come towards you and most will miss, besides in a 4 player party you will probably have a dual wielder and an archer could easily shoot from behind as well as lure some enemies towards himself to relieve the pressure of the dual wielder.

2. Higher HP, more damage , better attacks, If I am right these are the only way to increase fight difficulty, what other methods do you recommend? Plus if you think that enemies have too much HP in normal as well then go play casual, although I will add that the huge HP problem is valid only in torment and hard, but that is sort of subjective.

3. If you have tested that I won't argue, but I will add that a level gain does not necessarily mean a higher hitting chance, It could just as well mean a higher HP/ dodging chance, Similarly I think the bonus to hit that blessing spell gives is probably constant and the trait might be increasing the duration of the spell, did you test that as well?

I just read that if we had a 269-269 tie for electoral votes, Romney would probably win the president race because Republicans control more states while Biden will win for the Vice-president since senate is controlled by Democrats, not being too familiar with the US election system I wanted to ask whether such a result is allowed constitutionally, or will it result in a second poll?

This is a reply to @Brocktree(I didn't want to quote you since yours was a huge post)

1.Archery is in no way useless, a lot of guys will tell you that they actually found it more useful than other builds, the high chance you get of dodging enemy attacks should compensate for the lower damage, It might be inferior BUT it is not USELESS.

2. If you find the game to be too hard on higher difficulties then play on lower ones, that's the reason they are provided.

3. I am about 99% sure that the traits are not bugged, it's just that as you progress in the game they don't help you as much as you feel they should, A +2 level summon will be very hard to notice from a normal one, ditto for blessing focus which gives you what ?, a 3-4% increase in effectiveness, very hard to notice again.

doubt ACS comes that quickly after Avadon 2.

It should come rather quick by SW standards , the story is pretty much ready, and the official spiderweb page seems to indicate that they are in at least some way working parallely on the games.

I was referring to the title of the post, and the subsequent realization that it wasn't an announcement of progress by Spidweb (a vain hope), but just an inquiry by another member.

There are items that give bonuses to mage spell skill, so you don't absolutely need to get the level by skill points yourself.

Avernum 2 is being currently remade with a new engine ( The same one as that of A:eftp), A4-6 are not newer versions of anything they are totally new , A1-3 were remakes of Exile.
