I'd say you probably have a dead mixing guy.

I'd say get a decent boost in mechanics early in the game and then use tools on everything that needs only one of them, use on things that require two only if the reward is good or else wait till you are good enough to open in one, don't use on things requiring 2+, they will almost certainly have some other way to be opened.

I recommend not eating a sour one, that will make the world sore . These are incredibly annoying and have been there since A4, 3 is especially annoying in A:eftp though. 6 is a very good suggestion, I never really cared about 4,5 and 7 though, they are pretty minor in my opinion.

He's never really cared too much about whether the dialogue fits the party structure, In avernum too there are instances when the dialogue makes sense for only a singleton , that said I'm pretty sure my character used a changing room or something, or at least turned away from him .

Isn't that concept equally valid in the stat system of A:eftp? Even if you start from a custom party the potential to screw up is limitless, how is the stat system of previous trilogy any worse in that regard? Also these games aren't that hard on the lower difficulties I will say even if you have allocated a few useless points here and there the default builds are still good enough to carry the day. (and I just noticed you are not a cartographer any longer, the new custom title is coooooooool.)

Yes but they are viable, and if people are playing without any help/advice/experience then it's better to use them rather than make a custom party and get stuck.
