  1. Jeff Jeff Jeffffffff , where are you jeff....
  2. I will just add that I personally find Summon shade quite useful as well, especially on early levels even though I hadn't invested anything in summoning focus, it becomes much less useful over time obviously, however against Ice attack enemies you will just love it.
  3. Are you calling Avernum dumb indirectly?
  4. @Ingarra welcome to spiderweb forums, please leave your sanity at the door, these discussions help a lot in this regard . I'm not sure why you didn't factor in the G2 PC at all, he is also quite a popular opinion among most people. (Also Nalyd I'm pretty sure you are allowed to necro if you are contributing something significant, which in my opinion he is, not that it matters anyway.)
  5. Actually if you had to walk all the way to some friendly towns (especially in a shaman less party) just for health recharge, you would probably hate it even more. A game being realistic is one thing, it being enjoyable is totally another.
  6. Play SW games once more, they are good enough to merit a second play through .
  7. Doh , I thought he was referring to Avadon, anyway just as Alorael said I find the Avadon system to be better, save and reload just doesn't appeal to me at all.
  8. I am not sure what you are saying here, there is no "luck check" thing, your character with the highest lock-picking skill determines how many lock picks you need for the door, if you have that many you can open the door, otherwise not.
  9. They aren't going to be remade for a few years at least , what I personally like about the games is their story so if I get a better engine I would certainly prefer the new ones.
  10. This is the basic set of rules
  11. The more your lock picking skill, the less lock picks you have to spend, so basically the number you are willing to spend and your skill both contribute, also I thought that both Miranda and Redbeard were pretty well written but as you said, to each his own.
  12. That's certainly a very beautiful explanation, unfortunately I don't understand a single sentence of it.
  13. Not surprising considering the number of people who off-load it every day here, demand-supply thingy, you know.
  14. The initial Geneforge games actually kept the save files in the same folder where you installed the game, you could check that as well.
  15. It's totally possible on the normal version, so I'm assuming yes.
  16. Avadon 2 is presumably set in Corruption so we shall be able to know it's secrets then, but to be honest the similarities seem superfluous to me, I mean the same man made the games, it's just natural that some things may look similar.
  17. Yeah this is probably one way in which the game mechanics can be abused, but and I'm probably being a bit ridiculous here, if you are bothered by something that seems like an abuse then you can always choose to not use it.
  18. The fact that the shapers were so unprepared and ceded so much ground during the start of rebellion also points towards a lack of experience in dealing with such situations.
  19. Yes, but it is a very long fight, look for messages when it says "something in the room changes" and find the hidden switches on the north wall, they will reveal chambers with sort of monsters who you have to kill in order to damage Redbeard.
  20. He can be killed only at the game ending.
  21. Only to some extent really, I miss the spell system of A1-3, a level 3 spell was a real boost and achievement in them.
  22. Yeah while there might be coincedences , there aren't way too much of them.
  23. Here's a map of the area. The wretch areas will show up once you get the quest from the dragon to eliminate them.
