You are kind as always, well, I was kidding about the promotion and I know about the hint but I wanto to defeat everything on two or four legs (three legs would be ok too). I am still trying to win that damned last medal without cheating and without missing a fight.
However, what do you think of my complain?

Curing brew is not effective when you are dazed or stunned because you can't use it, this is implicit, ok, but it is also a bit cruel your partners can't help, because still there are no dark green crystals when you fight those reptiles outside Wretch fortress (on Torment). A crystal or two on the way to Wretch warrens may help a lot.
Gosh I got promoted, I am a Monitor... what does it mean? :-)

Editor's javelin rocks! :-)

It's scenary but also think one theoretically needs ways to slow down the game a bit too. There's much you can do to slow the party, as it is in most rpg games where 1) it gives you time to think and 2) simply, the game lasts longer :-) , lots of junk through which lookin' for valuable items do the job, I presume.

I wish the strong Conan look of both gendre in Avernum will come back for Avadon sequel, gosh that warrior girl was cool, wasn't she?
-
I see, thanks, still there's no proper (sealed or closed) holding cell there that's why I misunderstood the indication.
-
When you already have been under Castel Vebeaux you maybe missed the Titansteel broadsword that is better than the Emerald Saber, but you need to buy it from the Blacksmith down there (good idea might be to enhance it with Strenght or +4% all damage runestones).
Assuming you are close to find the Lord, once you kill him your Blademaster will be really glad of the sword and shield he will pick up from the ground ;-)

The line appears in your first mission in the Dungeon, just after the wretches there's a room with secret switch on the right then a path closed with rocks, when you get there you read "Beast holding cells". I am not able to find a secret switch which leads to this cells, is there one or those words do not signal any real hidden room?

They wrote Avadon works for Mac 10.5 or later, it is wrong, it perfectly works with my 10.4 OSX. Maybe you should tell them to correct the line, because there is still a lot of people using 10.4 and some of them could buy the game.

I think I will introduce your saying in my small English vocabulary:-)
-
Yes, this is what I experienced more than once. Then there is a logical error in the plot. Case closed :-)
-
Thanks. I won't say you are wrong about Lord Svarl second (still missing to me) quest but I know I tried many times to get it before the main quest which leads to the reward and I found no dialogue about it. So, I would ask more detailed indication to close the case :-)
Note: I was writing this lines while Dikiyoba was posting his reply, mine was intended for Mod.
I understand your advice about holding off killing the bunch of wretches, but this is not logical when you are playing the quest. It is an expedient and I am trying to hold the line, or to determine if there is a simple mistake on the line.
-
It comes to my mind there's another similar situation to solve in terms of timing or to point out as a minor error in terms of plot logic:
Lord Svarl, the funny wretch stationing in Redbeard corridors, gives you a reward (when you ask) when you return to Avadon after a quest (the reward is for having killed members of his opponent Clan), but he doesn't give you any related quest before leaving. About this I am quite sure because I tried several times to talk to him before the quest.

Earth Empire @ Just kidding :-)

Turtle@ Thanks a lot for information, that was exactly what I was looking for.
Mod.@ I wouldn't dare to contradict Albert Einstein, but we now know that the universe ends where Chuck Norris begins.
-
You should try the Arséne Lupin item, it's marvelous!
-
Turtle@
you know, when you are there... you are there :-)
That's the point, I would know "when" can I get that quest because up to now it always occurred me to get it after the killing and I wondered if that was a coincidence, bad luck or was intentional.
Randomizer@
you must get the quest before removing the fang because otherwise the dialogue which enables you to do so doesn't appear on screen after killing Voldem... the Blue Menace, that's for sure :-)
-
When you kill the Blue Menace you need to get back to Goldcrag to get the fang quest, then you have to go back to Jereth Deeps to collect the thing.
Is there a way to get the information from the Overseer, the one which allow the silent guy to talk to defend himself, BEFORE killing the Blue Menace?
It's a bit boring to walk the road twice for something you could take immediately after the killing.

I meant Spirit Charge, well not a weapon, it's the range spell that covers a large area and hits hard which origins from Spirit Claw.
When you control a high Dex Shaman, long range spells and cone attacks are overall necessary to clear the field.
I know, you play a singleton game, and you also can't use this spell every time because you need to recharge, so you need the missile, but you also have Acid Mist and Call of the Storm that you can alternate, waiting for Earthshatter.
On the other hand I am curious, how did you retrain for missile in terms of points allocation?
-
When you soon manage to rise Spirit Claw at level 8 (+1) you have one of the best range weapons of the game, so you would need fewer Intelligence points (that make your magic more effective) and place them on Dex and Endurance. Shaman's basic attack is otherwise the weakest of the Party, so it seems, and I don't much rely on it.
-
Cornered rats don't have knocback items, but you do :-)
-
I will try this :-)
-
Chars can - always - move one step away and use long range abilities after you are told you can't, it's boring but easy. You don't even loose Frenzy when you have it on that turn.
Some foes are weaker but some foes absorb much more of the damage in your hits. So there's a balance. Yesterday you hit a serpent with 300 damage points, today a big salamander took only 18, same char, same weapon.
If I would change something is to lower the number of lighting scrolls you find on game but make them more powerful.
Some cone attacks are really weak too, even when directed to the "right" foes, (i.e. cold versus salamander).
-
I can hardly believe it is possible to complete the game with all of the side quests using a solo Shaman, with no cheats and no Editor. I am not saying that is impossible, it is merely a personal evaluation after a lot of playthrough I played,I know I couldn't make it.
The amount of power a Shaman can generate is to me simply not enough to defend from multiple heavy attacks (i.e. under Zethron liar) or to damage multiple hard foes (i.e. Beloch & friends or the Blue Menace and Constructs).

Golgrag, uh? Thanks, didn't notice that. Next party then, I bought the strenght+endurance scarab in Avadon fortress and I left with 28 coins :-)))
