  1. I began playing in Normal, then I found it too scaring ( I panic easily with games) and began to use the shift-D cheats, then I discovered The Turtle Moves Editor and went on with that to Hard and then Torment. Hope I well remember, it seems ages ago. Last two months anyway I played only Torment without cheats or Editor to win the last medal and due to the experience made and the knowledge acquired I finally succeded. So I would say my gaming "style" is aimed to experiment all possible ways of playing a game until I am totally confident with it.
  2. Ok. Didn't understand if the question was badly expressed or else, anyway I don't like to be ignored but obviously it's not a problem of yours. Thanks.
  3. Mert is a character in Whiteplains, maybe you got the quest but you didn't go to Sevilin quarters to find his message.
  4. I still don't understand what kind of power exactly affect the items augmenting curses percent and magic ones. This is due to my not excellent knowledge of English language (and honestly I am not the one who reads game istructions). Nathalie's got magical powers and Jenell curses powers? I.e. when there's a cloak that gives +5% magic and some gloves that give +8% curses which of the two ladies would have a higher benefit from the different items? A side question: there's a skin bracelet that gives 5% more protection versus melee attacks; so does this item not protect as an armor from all other kind of hits?
  5. Sorry I played only Geneforge demos, however what I mean is that we could not have the same surprise, being with a party like that, being forced to cooperate as being influenced by their misleading points of view; this is something the player can be affected succesfuly only once. Next time Jeff will find something different to send us to the wrong direction
  6. I believe I agree with Enraged Slith about comparing apples and oranges. Taking for granted some Avernum features we all like, Avadon is graphically a complete different game; the design, the details, the width of the screen and the areas that we have to discover quest after quest change the perspective and also the emotional approach to the game. In terms of mood/ambience I like both the old Avernum serie and Avadon, while in terms of layout and graphics Avadon is a very good start for a smashing new Spiderweb serie. We probably will see a great deal of differences in the plot of Avadon II, because the player was already fooled once with a party of psycho outsiders and the same trick wouldn't work twice.
  7. I already loaded a previous save, so it's nothing serious for me. However the flag did appear in Brasula's quarters even without the quest. I believe this is a minor empasse to solve, generally speaking.
  8. Am on Torment with a singleton Shima, forgot to take the Brasula quest before searching her quarters. When I did get the quest from Hand Callan she doesn't have the relate dialogue to grant me the reward (it's a scarab if I well remember). Can this be fixed in some way?
  9. Thanks again. That is what I usually do for Beraza main quests; simply ignore the allies until the other area quests are closed, then go back to other areas to get rewards and only in the end the party go back for the main quest. This is rational to me, avoid to store too many quests in Journal that bedazzle and usually the party gain at least a level before the main quest.
  10. I know there's better weapon later on but the timing for a good weapon is also important. They are not only located here and here but there's also a sense in "when in game" you get it. However, just in case: anybody knows if you find the soldiers alive also when you don't speak at first to their leader, then you complete the quest, go back to Zethron, go back to the soldiers to (eventually) speak with the leader?
  11. This is one more thing about Avadon, you can't be sure that what happened once will happen next time, I like it.
  12. You do know that EE it's the axe on the body of the Titan leading the last bunch of ogres before the lost soldiers flee from JD.
  13. Yes, same thing happens for the shield a certain major demon leaves under Zethron's liar. However it's random, sometimes the shield is inside the bag of a char, sometimes is on the ground, simply check both places.
  14. Ok, thanks Turtle. By the way I feel one of those in your signature quote
  15. Actually you can provoke her immediately after the "test" following the dialogue about her impeachment with the orcs. When you insist accusing her she will attack.
  16. As other players already point out, Fightcat, you better not loose hits on Zephyrine before you kill the constructs, all of them, so try to keep her busy and far from your chars with the help of summons, knockback items and so on. In the very beginning of the fight you could do significant damage to Zeph, it happens when you are lucky enough to stun her for 2/3 turns. But later on she heals herself, sothat this advantage becomes futile.
  17. It took me literally weeks and a lot of different parties but I made it without the editor, yes However the Editor is greatly reassuring when you understand there's something wrong in how you set your party and it's not worth to go on like this then you can use it to complete that playthrough anyway.
  18. Yes, I told them to sit and wait then I simply forgot about them after completing the Ogres quest, went to Zethron before realizing they were still there, well, they were there nomore. This means I definetely lost that red axe? Or is there a way to get the Lost Soldiers quest again? Went back to Watcher Harissa, she said all soldiers were dead and didn't give any reward. I killed every single orc in the area, except those you meet after leading the soldiers, but those couldn' kill anybody because they appear after you take control of the soldiers... That's simply unfair. Doesn't work like this in Sevilin quest, when you don't join the soldiers they flee and that's all.
  19. This might be an interesting opinion poll, Darth Ernie: which is the most annoying part of the game? 8-) Fyrassa battle may be a good match, all that road to end it up so soon, while the crypt phantom is most scaring and dangerous but nobody up there knows about him!
  20. Gee... I finally got all the medals!
  21. Fightcat, don't worry, she's edible. You'll have to kill her before but drake's meat is definetely tasty. There is more than a thread on Zeph, sorry I'm too lazy to look for it. However two things are sure to me, that are 1) your party need plenty of high defenses spells, scrolls, potions, anything and 2) You better fight her more than once. Not simply to overcome her but also to practice and learn useful tactics from this fight, that is one of the longest and complicated of the game
  22. Warped widows should be killed first turn if you can manage that, there's only one per group of spiders but they really hurt. According to your level evaluation I suggest to leave the Shavon quest and the 3/4 warped widows in the same area (those protecting the trapdoor) for later in the game; you can possibly defeat those foes also now but it might cost a lot of resources, as potions, spells and so on.
  23. You may find useful to concentrate hits on the guy with the sword, he comes closer and stay close so you "have" to hit him, while the other two you should move and eventually loose turns to hit them heavily with swords or halberds. Killing this guy is worth the others in terms of Zhossa game, but the "killing" comes usually out to be quicker. You also may want to use some hits on Zhossa's zombies, they are weak but annoying.
  24. When you look at the main ingame draw of Redbeard moving chess pieces on his map, you notice on his blade pommel a white star in red field. The same sign is on the blade pommel after the end of the game (when you are the new Keeper). A double star is also Avadon simbol. Maybe Blademaster is Hawkeye?
