  1. Really enjoying the game so far, it's been quite a departure from the usual SW style. I'm still constantly looking for items on the floor.... Just wondering if anyone knows if the + to healing bonus augmentation adds to the healing the character casts, or the healing that the character receives? Thanks!
  2. Great, thank you so much, Randomizer! I may not be leaving my sanity at the door after all, haha.
  3. Can you not finish the game before day 160? Or do you just miss out on something cool if you do? Thank you for the response!
  4. When I play open world games, I love mucking around, trying to poke into harder areas early, exploring every corner of the map, checking back to see if I can pick that lock yet, etc. etc. etc. I'm not a crazy min-maxer when it comes to stats, but I AM the loon that picked up every single piece of paper in G5. So what I need to know is - how likely am I to run my clock down/get a lot of negative effects? I'm so stressed about it right now that I save when I go into a town, I'll save, do my wandering, then reload, and re-do only the bits that were fruitful. It's not as much fun as I'd like!! Haha. I'm also changing my behaviour with dungeons. Normally, I'd try to be methodical to make sure I find all the sneaky switches/item boxes - I clear a whole floor, then head to town to heal before heading down the trap doors/upstairs, etc. Now I won't go back until my magic users are completely out of energy, even if I've had to stop in the middle of a hallway/crossroads or somewhere equally unsatisfying. Somebody please tell me how necessary this kind of stuff is before I drive myself insane! Haha. (If it matters, I'm playing on hard - my spiderweb experience makes up for my lack of general RPG savvy) PS Are Levy's 25 coins worth popping by Emergence in the first area? I imagine the second is no for sure.
  5. I've been playing too much Geneforge lately, hoarding my cash for skills. I can't remember what I spent my money on in Avadon 1, but I don't remember paying skill trainers. What kinds of things do you guys save for? Lockpicks? The better potions/scrolls? Farms?
  6. I'm kind of with Lilith, were I to choose on a pure personality/interaction basis I would definitly use Khalida and Alcander. I've been using Yannick instead, since I really, really enjoy having a sorceror/ess on my team, but he and Alcander don't really fight, they are just so opposite that they seem to baffle each other so far. Hmm. >.>
  7. I'm having a hell of a time deciding who to take with me these days! I play mostly for the story rather than the gameplay so my plan/challenge is to make the party with the most interesting clash of personalities work out strategically. Sadly no one is sharply catching my interest, though right away I enjoyed Alcander's blatant malcontent. Maybe I'll bring him and someone who will probably be horribly offended by him. Have you guys found any fun pairs of characters, interaction-wise? Or particularly enjoyed anyone's dialogue?
  8. Hey, this is pretty cool! Wish I'd been around when you guys had started
  9. I used it to bring my dead healer back to life, then managed to win the fight after a few tries. Thanks! Besides not liking to cheat, I was always scared to use the character editor, didn't realize it would be so user friendly.
  10. Yeah that's what I thought. I've played enough spiderweb games that I *really do* know better... just got caught up in playing and clicking save and forgot to make another file. Thanks for the quick response!
  11. I've been messing around with the Nethergate demo lately... Unused to the different save method, I just made a big mistake... upon getting into a fight I had no chance of winning, I went to reload my game and clicked save instead... I haven't another file for quite some time. Any chance of using editors to get myself out of this fight, or do I have to start over?
  12. I know this topic is a little dead, but wow did I ever see a funny (definitely underappreciated) bit of writing today. I finally took screenshots of the loading screens that are set up as data files about creations. An offhand remark on the Battle Alpha page helpfully suggests that "loincloth not strictly necessary but recommended to not upset delicate outsiders".
  13. I, too, would like to see the ending dialogs to find out how a few of the minor choices could have turned out. I'm also failing to find the file. Maybe I'm missing the joke, but clicking "Show Me" in BMA's post does nothing for me. Corrupted by the forum move, maybe? Can anyone help?
  14. In case anyone has been following this, I've figured it out! Even characters who do not have a breathing animation have a 'flinch' animation that plays when they are struck by something. Stunned characters are permanently frozen in the 'flinch' position. Some are just more subtle about it than others.
  15. I hadn't even noticed the breathing animation, so yeah, looking to spot animations in general, I guess. I must play with my face too far away from the computer. It would just be nice if there were sparkles around their heads, like terrified characters get.
  16. There is definitely no color change... I will give looking for minute animations a try.
  17. I'm sort of enjoying the plot in G3 so far, but that may be because of a choice I made right at the beginning. Usually I wander about and try to avoid joining a faction out of indecision for as long as possible, but in this game I decided to play "in character", as an arrogant pro-Shaper jerk. All those [censored] dialogue options I'd skip out on the other games are finally getting used! Morality does not really matter, because it's my jerk of a character making the decisions, not my personal choices. I do have to comment though, I've noticed a few missions I've missed out on by being too much of a jerk to the person who offers it, so be careful! Haha
  18. I have one more silly question! It's starting to drive me a bit crazy that when I use the daze spell, I can not tell which enemies are dazed and which are not. I know it announces along the bottom whether the spell worked or not, but when you've got several enemies with the same name, it's impossible to tell! I'd rather attack the non-dazed enemies.... Is there any way to tell by looking, holding a key, etc.?
  19. One more question guys! The previous Geneforges have given me bizarre hoarding reflexes... is there any reason why I should keep Gemstones, Emeralds, Crystals (Lovely, Beautiful, Flawed, etc.) and the likes instead of selling them immediately? I"m pretty sure I have to keep research notes and shaper equipment (and dried herbs!), but I'm not sure about the rest!
  20. Thanks for the responses, guys! You were all very helpful. (I do agree with Dikiyoba... I am just such a hoarder/seller that any time saved in inventory is awesome. The introduction of the junk bag made my life.)
