  1. Does the story/ending change based on time taken?
  2. Interesting. Stacking 4x Dodge Aura seems...really strong. Then again, so does 'Every touch makes people violently eject torrents of high pressure blood' and 'Status Effects are for other people'.
  3. Do Auras (Like Vicious Strikes and Haven's Command) apply to the character using them? In addition, do they stack if you've got more than one of the same Aura?
  4. Interesting, thanks a lot. I'm a sucker for melee mages, so I'll give an Arcane Weapon focus a go.
  5. Fair, I may be undervaluing the status effects and the chance of a critical hit relative to say, Folded Steel's +5 Physical Damage and 5 higher base damage (Actually, is the higher base damage on folded steel from that +5 base damage or is it doubling up on extra damage?)
  6. Has anyone had any success with Arcane weapons? They seem interesting but they seem to fall short of 'just use metal weapons', if you're a mixed combat/magic character. Am I missing something of note with them (Perhaps enemies have on average much lower magic resistance)?
  7. According to the atlas, Obeyers can learn Sholai from Learned Jaffe but despite having joined the Obeyers, there doesn't seem to be any dialog to learn it. Is there anything that unlocks it beyond 'Being an Obeyer'? I've gotten +1 Fyora from him, so it is recognising I'm part of the Obeyers.
  8. Yeah. Shapers are not, personally, very potent but they get the most minions and Action Economy is the king of most games so they're generally the easiest class to play.
  9. Shapers are strong in Shaping, Neutral in Spellcasting, Weak in Combat. Leadership, Stealth and Mechanics are neutral for everyone.
  10. "Hmm, this shaper turned up and all of a sudden everything we own has gone missing, then they started throwing shaped creatures into landmines...but they also said nice things so I think they're good."
  11. Interesting. I wonder how hard modding some other things would be with all those files there open to editing (Like say, having the Guardian use the Agent model on the map).
  12. Interesting. I guess with the lack of later game mages to buy training in spells, I'll be grabbing the spell canisters. Thanks.
  13. Something I'll admit I'm curious about: The later Geneforge games cared a lot about how many canister you use but Geneforge 1 didn't. This one has people who can check how many canisters you've used but does anyone know if your level of Canister Usage affects gameplay/endings? As playing through as an Agent going 'Hmm...not sure I can afford to use any of these canisters' is...more than a little painful with the game lacking the later game's ability to just buy training in various spells.
  14. The issue really is that's it's really hard to balance a character that can effectively take multiple turns with those that cannot. In addition in a Pen and Paper RPG it is a lot of excess bookwork. Still, with the constant summons varient from Unearthed Arcana to make every time you cast the same summon spell it be the same minion and the summoners normal pet you can get decently close. You act more like a cheating boss fight than a regular shaper though.
  15. If you are willing to use Pathfinder rather than straight 3.5, then the Summoner class can act sorta like a Shaper. They have a permanent, cusomisable minion creature that does the bulk of the fighting while they summon and buff. However they are limited to one at a time, so you won't have the permanent hosts of creatures.
