  1. Well, theoretically, Croikle's editor is damage to your game, since it replaces an obelisk with no functionality with one that functions as a character editor. However, if you mean "will it make stuff not work", your game should be 100% fine after having installed it.
  2. It's only statistically likely for one of those scenarios to be released. That leaves 12 that are unlikely to ever see the light of day. Oh well.
  3. Well, in Siege of Sighing Mountain (for BoE), you can go anywhere and do anything, as far as I saw, and you can't dawdle, because, for all practical purposes, doing a lot of the things which you can do causes you to lose.

  5. They're either using a modified editor or hex-editing the scenario files. Both methods are impermissible for discussion here, however, so if you wish to inquire further into this, please do it on another board.
  6. 3.) It's really a "choppy" scenario ^ It being a bad scenario would be the only reason no one has it. Cursing is REALLY REALLY common in some scenarios.
  7. Emerald Mountain could have been a lot less restrictive in where you could go, yes. I complained about it to TM during the beta, actually, because I frequently got a "you went off the path!" message when I was trying to go where TM wanted me to. Regarding Morrowind, I found it rather fun, but a bit lacking because there wasn't any real natural progression of things to do, since you could go anywhere and do anything at any time. (yes, including beat the game in under an hour) Quote: Extensive time and effort was taken to make the whole things extremely linear and exactly the way the programmer wanted, going so far as to turn off spells, make spells that are normally effective in certain situations completely ineffectual there so that a plot point can be shoved in the player's face, and so forth. In any case, while I don't really care for "You don't want to do that!" messages, especially when I might actually want to do what the designer is telling me I don't, the turning off of spells / making spells ineffective was to force the player to look for a new strategy. Consider this: EVERY party at a high enough level for Bahssikava has Unshackle Mind. If you can just cast that on your charmed character, is his being charmed a threat at all? With that made ineffective, the battle was made much more difficult. (As a lengthy aside, I consider the removal of Cloud of Blades in Canopy permissible, as well, as it defeats a potentially game-breaking tactic. In BoE, it was common practice for your invulnerability to be removed constantly in boss fights, and, in one scenario, for the game to instantly kill you if you left combat mode during a boss fight. While these seem odd, the former is truly game-breaking, as in BoE, there's an easily recastable spell that gives a single character six rounds worth of invulnerability. The latter, while it seems offensively limiting, stops the player from abusing a game-breaking bug which allows him to take full combat actions while restricting the enemy to one action per monster per round. While the party can do these things and, in the former case, has earned the ability to do said things, they break the game when they are used. Therefore, I see no reason that negating something game-breaking in BoA, such as Cloud of Blades and its percent-of-target's-HP-based damage, is not permissible.)
  8. They are cats. There are no bird people in Exile nor Avernum.
  9. When they breathe, you can see the ball leaving their square to hit you. With this information, walk up and beat them to death.
  10. Admittedly, Thuryl, I know both of us save compulsively. However, some newbies might be put off by the idea of needing to save before every little encounter.
  11. I'd recommend an all-spellcaster party, but it can be frustrating until you're level 3 or so and you can go into a fight without saving beforehand.
  12. AT THE END OF SPY'S QUEST RENTAR-IHRNO DOES NOT DIE Of course, this also holds true if you say... AT THE END OF FALLING STARS RENTAR-IHRNO DOES NOT DIE
  13. Dude. Undead Valley sucks because Micael seems to not have half an idea of what makes a scenario fun, not because he can't program worth a damn. Playable scenarios also don't require huge, shiny innovations of coding. Go back to RPG Maker 2003 and die there.
  14. The 3D dungeon in Demon Island II in some way has X, Y, and Z dimensions. You're climbing ladders (Z) between platforms (X and Y) with special art to further the illusion that it is actually three-dimensional.
  15. Apparently, you come from some sort of country with no laws. In the United States of America, reverse-engineering proprietary software and distributing modified copies of said software is against the law. While the illegality of it is mostly based on how much the developer and/or publisher care, if they ask you to cease and desist, Americans must legally do so. Also, regardless of your nationality, such talk and/or action will get you quickly and painfully smacked with a ban, so don't do it.
  16. Hold on, let me (properly) move this to ET... Oh, balls, that nuked the poll. Stupid UBB implementation of polls...
  17. Please first BITE ME and then LOOK AT THE SCENARIO SCRIPT OF ANY SCENARIO RELEASED SO FAR.
  18. In A3, it is far simpler to acquire a Basilisk in your Soul Crystal and use that to one-hit Rentar, from what I have heard.
  19. I consider it a basically good thing that you cannot set the PCs on fire.
  20. *knifes Emo* No ressurecting dead topics. ;_;
  21. Squirrel, Roses of Reckoning sorta sucked. But, ya know, that's just one out of something like 20 scenarios he's designed. Out of those, I'd say at least 15 are better, most of them much better. Now, on the other hand, there's one of you, and you suck. I think TM has a better track record here.
  22. Dark Elf, I hope you realize that this thread was long in its grave when you posted in it. The original posters in it don't give a flying crap about it any more, I'm wagering, so your contribution is meaningless and annoying. Don't post in threads on page 17 next time!
