I have creations, but my shaper itself is a melee fighter

I have a compaq presario, model #SR2050NX, win XP sp 2, game version 1.0.1, but i am not sure where to find the graphics card data.

Every time I try to play Geneforge 1 or 2, all I see is darkness on the title screen, and all the time before that. I can't even see enough to start playing!please advise

no,no,no.I finished the Demo with a melee shaper.

I was trying to survive on easy, and found I made a Meele shaper! my shaper hits more often with meele than anything else! please, is this a glitch, or is it really possible?
