  1. I remember how hard the Exile games were... And how hard the Avernum Trilogy was... I am happy to hear that difficulty has been brought back up. Now I just have to wait for the windows release...
  2. I don't think ADOS understands why the last thread was locked, and why this one probably will as well...
  3. Arrow's to the knee work better, you know. Maybe that's why you never see many adventurers in Avernum, just lots of guards...

In my opinion, it is better to wait for a game that won't be bugged or corrupted, than get a game early only to find that it is so horrifyingly bugged that it is nearly unplayable. I'm looking at you, Skyrim.
  5. Once he remakes Exile 1 a 5th time, he would probably end up paying you to buy it due to stacked discounts.

As someone who is autistic (Aspergers), I'm almost offended by it. Then I laugh as it's somewhat true for me and some people I know. And then I log back off and go back to lurking so I don't start spamming like I once did.
  8. You know, I don't think I ever want to catch up to Alorael. To do so, I would have to be the second top poster for a long time, and given some of Alorael's PDNs...

  11. Or cost a bit less. I suppose a general stone shaping spell could carve small sections from the ceiling, dropping stone on targets instead. But yes, I do have to agree that Material, on its own, would be very difficult to do. Then again, how often does someone on a AIMHack that is a dedicated spellcaster use only one school of magic? I stand by Material as being powerful, it's just highly situational, just like most spells that dont involve blowing something up or healing. Way to solve this? Learn other stuff and don't focus on it completely. Learn to use a bow, or another school of magic. This will solve the main problems with Material. At least, in theory. Heck, even without damaging spells, I can see a Material Mage turning the stone under a opponents feet soft and mud-like, slowing and hampering enemies, or smoothing it till anyone in that spot will begin slipping around. Probably wouldnt be a high level spell, either.
  12. As much as I love the original Avernum trilogy, I must say that Geneforge is a amazing series. I've never played any other game similar to it, and despite the first few of the series being a bit clunky at times, the sheer replayability, multiple endings, and the amazing atmosphere of the first are more than worth the occasional frustrating moments of the series.

Teleport onto small rock ledge out of reach of melee weapons, alter ground under group of enemies into stalagmites. Or is it stalactites that are on the ground? I forget which. Anyways, if I wasnt busy I would have joined this just to do such. Material may sound weak at first, but if used creatively, it could easily be the strongest school. Sure, you're not hurling giant balls of fire, but it wouldnt take to much effort to cause stalactites (or stalagmites, whichever is on the ceiling) to break off and fall on someone, spraying the area with stone shrapnel of pain and death.
  14. Or me, when I first joined. Seems like most newbies have a period of spam before they settle down.

  16. A good way to balance dual-wielding would be to nerf the damage both weapons do, along with accuracy some more, making it really only useful for bonus' that the offhand may have. At least untill you're far more trained in it.

Yes, Im that awesome. The only reason why you didnt get scratched from the nuclear power plant is becuase you were getting cancer, not scratches. I once changed the subject name of this thread for my own amusement, wondering why anyone would want to make themselves puke from drinking that much milk.
  18. Inspired by Goldenking's comment in the Alorael thread. We need to start posting recipes and the like, for the good of us all. The delicious food must not be denied!
  19. Perhaps, but nearly everything in his games tries to eat you at some point. And let us not forget the intelligent Ornk from G5. It was sentient and talking, but was food nontheless.
  20. Giant Lizards and Hydra drop meat that is not a mushroom or a fish.

Besides, he's less likely to escape if he's able to post and Google pictures of pedestrians whenever he wants to. Dikiyoba. Well, to be honest, I was thinking *cough*Scorpius*cough* got to him. Although that is probably the way he will eventually go. Untill then, we can only hope. But about what?

  23. Huh, hate to be a thread necromancer, but... Dantius, I could kiss you. My new password will hold for 10 million years, while my old would have only held for 5 hours.
