  1. All scenarios I want to play when I'm done with E3. I'm sure someone has them, and I'd like them too.
  2. http://www.harehunter.info/Exile3/Maps/MainMap3.html They're marked here as brown circles with black dots. Unless I'm not seeing one, there are four.
  3. There were postcount races in the distant past.
  4. I think Harehunter has the Cartographer title.
  5. In Exile, visiting four different town/dungeon levels before returning would reset hostility and raise anyone you killed, except in certain circumstances. Also, stealing from certain places will set off an alarm. Visiting four other towns in Geneforge would be laughably easy though, so you just have to deal with the consequences of your actions. Do the livestock hunt you down when a town goes hostile in Geneforge, like in Exile?
  6. I still think people who make fancy detailed maps and don't have another, more personal title should still be given the Cartographer title. It should be started again. It's nice. Making those maps takes a lot of work. Then again, I don't know what recent maps are like. If they're just screenshots of the minimaps stitched together, it's not quite the same thing as the interactive atlas type things like this: http://www.harehunter.info/Exile3/Maps/MainMap3.html
  7. You remind me of the lady at the movie theater where I worked who walked up to me at the register and angrily demanded "regular soda".
  8. Moderators and administrators have titles based on that rank. Occasionally a regular member will be given a special title if they're notably interesting. Cartographer is given to people who make detailed maps of the games to assist players in finding quests and secrets and stuff. The rest of the ranks are just earned by posting enough. There used to be a list of the posting-based ranks somewhere, but I can't find it anymore...
  9. He recorded them both and said he would post them on YouTube. I thought he did so. Maybe not, but he said that was the plan. I remember him double-checking to make sure the recording was working a couple times.
  10. It could be fixed for open source BoE projects, but it would have to remain the same for legacy scenarios. It might be hard for players to understand the seemingly-arbitrary and possibly unclear discrepancy between legacy scenarios and new scenarios if that were done, though.
  11. Lava and pits are forced to opacity level 5? But you can see and shoot onto or over them. They're listed as Clear, Blocked in BoE's scenario editor. I must be misunderstanding something.
  12. Every moment spent being bored is an unfulfilled moment closer to death.
  13. Are you saying you want to basically increase the animation speed, so moving takes the same in-game time and/or AP for all mobile characters, but it takes less real-world time for you?
  14. Most of the games run just fine with WINE. What don't you like about it? EDIT: Nevermind, I don't remember whether I had issues with the Exile series specifically. It's been a while. I remember them running fine but I might be mistaken, and I'm not sure I know how to troubleshoot WINE anymore.
  15. We have quite an extensive collection of custom graphics made by other designers, and if you like those, you're free to use them in BoE scenarios. I was working on reorganizing the graphics archive a while back but I got frustrated and stopped. I think I'll pick it up again. For now, we have a big heap of graphics you can look through at http://www.OpenBoE.com I believe. Right now the site isn't loading, probably a webhost problem, but I think there's a link to the graphics on the main page once it's working again.
  16. No, it can't be done, currently, in legacy BoE or in OpenBoE. Sorry. It might come in the future, in an open source version, but it's not currently possible. EDIT: Actually, did Celtic Minstrel implement this in OpenBoE yet? I know he said he wanted the ability to allow PCs to join the party, including PCs of different races than the preset three. I'm not sure if he did that yet, though. I don't think he did.
  17. My input may be useless because I don't see the original graphics sheet (I don't use Steam and I'm still slowly working on Exile 3 anyway) but would manually lining up the Fyora's feet frame by frame solve the wobbling problem? You could create a new layer so you can see the new version overlaid over the original version, for comparison. "Locking it onto a certain pixel" was mentioned. Between the feet would be the anchor pixel to prevent wobbling, I think. As for the fireballs coming out off the shrunken fyora's eyes, you'd have to either adjust a script if possible to lower the fireball; shift the entire fyora up; extend its limbs and/or neck; or rotate its body to stand it up more erect. I actually find it disappointing that the in-game fyora sprite doesn't really match the character art at all. Maybe make it more red too, if you want.
  18. EDIT: Clicking the Recent Activity items does not take you to new posts.
  19. Yeah, Mass Sanctuary has saved me a few times. Irritatingly, in legacy BoE, the Dust of Hiding does not work. The Sanctuary item ability does nothing. But BoE spells are fun, because you can usually find a use for any spell at some point or another on your adventures. EDIT: Looking over the spell lists, the mage spell Spray Fields looks like an interesting one. I might try to use that at some point and see if it's useful for anything.
  20. Update: I have all the text and graphics for the tutorial ready to go. I just need to draw the maps, do the nodework, and input the text.
  21. Yeah, I tested it earlier and it only stops working through walls in E3 and legacy BoE. I just meant I never realized the spell description never mentioned it working through walls. I always thought it was in the description.
  22. Huh. I just looked, and it seems Shockwave wasn't advertised as working through walls to begin with, in any Exile game. I could have sworn it did. You learn something 26 years old every day!
  23. I just did some tests. Shockwave works through walls in E2, but not in E3 or BoE. Shockwave behaves as a line of sight "explosion" in BoE, where even if doors are open to a victim within 10 steps away, they will not be damaged unless they are in direct line of sight. I didn't test the open-doors trick with E3. Interestingly, Shockwave just makes an explosion sound and displays "The ground shakes!" in the text area, without displaying special effects or doing damage, if the party has just entered a legacy BoE scenario and one complete "round", in Town or Combat Mode, has not passed yet. The first "round" is glitchy in many ways in legacy BoE; for example, you can't save your game until you move. I tested line of sight with Firestorm. Since the area of effect is a 3x3 square with the corners missing, one can try to "hook" the explosion around a corner. However, if the tile around the corner is not in direct line of sight, it doesn't matter that there is a "path" to that victim; it won't damage them. That hasn't changed between E2, E3, and legacy BoE. I didn't do any of these tests with Magic Barriers, however.
  24. I just tested it and confirmed than in Exile 3, Shockwave will not do damage past solid walls, but will do damage through clear terrain. That's disappointing, because it is supposed to work through walls. EDIT: Also, Thaluikhain, you may be confusing Shockwave with Shockstorm. Shockstorm is the same as Firestorm except with magical damage type and more damage, but ShockWAVE is supposed to center an earthquake on the caster's location. The farther away a character is, up to a radius 10 circle, the more damage it does, much like an earthquake, and as such it would normally do damage through walls, as it travels through the ground. Now I wonder if legacy BoE had that problem... I'll test in a little bit.
  25. Something about Vahnatai. If you could figure out what Vahnatai-related message it is, you could probably see through it by subtraction to make what's behind it readable.
