Essence is, after all, specific to each Shaper. @Thuryl: Well, it looked like a gruesome charm. I've never found it before, so I wouldn't know exactly what it is.
  3. IMO, New Year's Eve is best spent in good company. I spent mine in good company, more specifically at a party, and I'm in a great mood! My new year's resolution is to make up a really good new year's resolution for next year, and stick with it. Hope you had as great a New Year's eve as I did!
  4. I've decided not to join this RP because I probably wouldn't ever have any time to write anything after break (Even though I already wrote my faction overview and intro). And Safey's messing up Burwood, which is where I wanted to have my faction. So good news Dantius, you don't have to deal with me. I'm gonna get back to programming my game now.

  6. Thanks for the tip, I'll be sure to not read it now. Unless I stumble upon a device that teleports me through time/space to ancient China, in which case I still won't read it because the closest available copy is written in Chinese. I've read Dune and many of it's sequels. Then I went for a prequel, attempted to connect everything together, and got a headache. This may just be because it was around 2 - 3 am.
  7. I found books by Lillith Saintcrow to be quite enjoyable and well written. They may not appeal to some, especially those that aren't that fond of action. Just finished reading Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. I would recommend it for anyone who liked HHG2G, as it is full of Adams' brand of craziness. I've also been wanting to read Sun Tzu's The Art of War for quite some time now, but haven't quite gotten around to it.

  9. Wow, this is getting more hype than I thought. I should stop procrastinating. Oh and if it is going to be somewhat like geneforge, there are going to be peons(serviles, peasants, etc) to take care of the animals. Stareye basically said the point I was going to make about that. I want to keep it as simple as possible, for now. I've been working mainly on the hexagon grid. And I use the term working lightly because I didn't do anything with it yesterday and today I only got to mess with it a little bit. I did take the liberty of going through the graphics folder a taking out a bunch of graphics that I think I'll probably want to use later. I also came across some pretty interesting things that I haven't seen before. Like some kind of item that looks like a heart.
  10. I haven't seen as much movies this year as some of you but: District 9- My favorite this year, definitely worth my money Inglourious Basterds- My runner up for favorite, I agree with Alorael that it might be worth seeing in ten years. At least to me. Bruno- Same guy who made Borat. I found it really funny, though some of my friends didn't like it. Up- Pretty nice, but not on the top of my list. It's better than the movie posters make it seem, though (which is a rarity among modern movies) 9- It's okay, though lacking in some aspects. I still found it somewhat enjoyable. The Knowing- My least favorite this year. Though it's decently done, I found it extremely unoriginal. Most of the other movies I didn't see because I heard about how bad they were from my friends.
  11. You know, I want to question the validity of Safey's faction. How does one go about hiding hundreds of huge floating vlish-blimps underground? His tunnels would have to be pretty huge. And how did he get them out? He would have to collapse most of the island. It's not like there were a bunch of magically capable beings on that island like, I don't know, drakons, who would be around to notice the sort of magical activity it takes to create all those creations and make all those tunnels. Anyway, I'm still considering whether to join this RP or not. I have an idea for a faction, it's going to be based in Burwood and the Greyghosts, basically it's going to be all the people Dantius freed from the Drakons when he destroyed them.

  13. If by followers you mean non-creation party members then they're still around, just not as common. Also, I guess magic anvils make npc-made artifacts more or less obsolete (there is puresteel, but I've never tried it).
  14. Tuldaric, that was his name. Anyway, this brings to mind another memorable moment from GF2, spending the first five minutes of the game pressing shift-D and typing iwanttobestronger in the box repeatedly (don't judge me by that, I was an immature gamer back then).
  15. ET had forces? I must have missed that. Originally Posted By: Dantius Yeas, I have control of Burwood, the Greyghosts... That can be taken care of. Illya would be the easiest choice, but then the only factions I get to interact with would be sleeping dragon's who is momentarily gone, and yours. If I choose a northern territory, I interact with you, the Archon, and Safey. A little bit of irony: Originally Posted By: Sleeping Dragon I'm going to hit my 1000th post soon. It feels strange. 16. Thanks. Whatever happened to Goldenking's faction? Is it still around, where is it? Anyway, Sleeping dragon's faction doesn't seem to appealing to me right now. Also, is Nioca officially out of the picture, because Safey's Zerg forces seem to have taken care of him(her?). I could probably carve out my own either in Illya or the Greyghosts (although Dantius seems to have those at the moment). Possibly Northern Burwood based in Poryphera or something.
  17. If I join I'll have a lot of catching up to do. Can I get a brief overview of all the factions, like who their leaders are, what they are currently doing, ideals, etc. so I don't have to spend hours reading all the posts? (I'll still read the more current ones)
  18. Thank you, Thuryl. Yes I'm using gamemaker, since as I've stated I want to keep it simple and gamemaker is pretty good with keeping it simple (as opposed to Java, IMO). I know a lot of people say gamemaker has limited capabilities, but there really isn't much you can't make with it if you try.
  19. I don't remember one inside the final taker complex, but there definitely is one inside the Magus Complex. It wants you to kill that borderline-crazy Shaper working with the Awakened (Don't remember his name).
  20. Who said it was going to be text-based? I explicitly mentioned graphics more than once. Anyway, just got done with some annoying chores today, ones that do not involve programming in the least. In fact, I've done very little programming in past day or two, and realistically speaking things are most likely going to continue at a slow pace. But they will continue. I've shifted my focus to the combat. Having a little trouble implementing a hexagonal grid (because square grids are for squares). But it's nothing I can't overcome. I don't know how much I'll get to work on this after the break, but I'll try to get a day's worth of programming in at least once a week. For now I've been working in small bits, because I have other things I would like to accomplish before the break ends, but I'll do my best to make a commitment and not abandon this.
  21. Damn, it's too late to join. I would have liked to take part in this.
  22. Thank you Diki, I now remember finding all three. @ Spddin, you have to take into account that it was around before the shapers left. But I think I remember something somewhere saying about restricted lifespans. Don't know where. It could've been a new law set by the shapers as a reaction to the rebellion though.
  23. Actually, doesn't Rawal end up ruling the council in one or more of the endings (not counting the one where you work for him)? I am of the opinion that if things got bad enough in the Mera, Astoria might decide to start getting involved. She can certainly put up a fight if she wants to (such as in the battle against Ghaldring). The shredbugs are rouges after all, they aren't directly controlled. I'm sure Astoria could probably think of some way around her treaty. My Faction: Undecided/Conflicted with a 2.5,0. I guess i'm slightly pro creation rights.
