  1. Huh. I always get enough money that I can afford the trainers AND spell levels. So I do that. At least, it worked on A5, haven't done A6 yet, I'm a PC.
  2. I missed it entirely while playing Mass Effect. Didn't realize it was the new year until 5:00 AM after a 13-hour stretch.
  3. I loved E3 for the field effects, flight, Identify, Simulacrum, and...wait for it...wait for it...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd....MindDuel!!!!!
  4. You know what I wish had been in Geneforge? a mental magic spell that was similar to MindDuel from Exile 2 and 3 (not so much the spell point theft as the mental damage). I was a little surprised there wasn't a mentally damaging effect. Aw, heck, I just miss MindDuel. I wonder if it can be made in Blades of Avernum? Can Blades add spells?
  5. yes, it did have acid shower, and earlier ones had aura of flames too. The energy cost made it prohibitive for repetitive use, and I have an infiltrator style of play-no creations as anything more tan meat puppets to distract enemies. Hence, the lower cost offense spells that I can spam were my main damage source.
  6. Maybe Geneforge spoiled me, but I find single target or 3 close together target spells are what I use most often. It helps that my entire party always consists of mage-priests with massive amounts of energy, such that utilizing energy conservation methods makes me never run out.

My point exactly.
  8. Less useful if you use those particular spells frequently, anyway.
  9. Also, since you can also MOVE them as well as collapse, you can look at say, one part at a time and leave the rest out of view, if it's anything like G5. Doesn't bother me though; I just turn the resolution up if it bugs me. Which it hasn't.
  10. Huh. Interesting. I find that my sorceress never uses creations as anything other than damage sponges; my main focus is always battle, mental, and blessing magic. I play sort of like the Agent's description; alone most of the time.
  11. I was afraid of that. Ah well, it is nice to think about, though, eh?

I am an oldie in terms of playing these games, not in terms of these forums, but I played Exile back in it's original release, and yet I like Geneforge better. So you're not alone.
  13. So, in the Geneforge games I've seen fan made editors that simply set your skills to a level you determine, which is pretty neat and all. What I'd like to do, though, is change the number of skill points you actually gain at each level. Is that possible? That way your characters don't suddenly get uber; instead, you could roleplay them as a 'prodigy' (well, even more so than usual), who becomes more powerful more quickly than 'normal' people. I don't even know if that's possible without some form of hacking though. What do you guys think? Incidentally, I was here on the boards before; my email that I used then is inactive, and I can't recall the name, so I had to make a new account. I went by the reverse order of the two words in my name, heh.
