Even so, when they start to get into the high 30's, specialization starts to occur even in nonmagic users, in order to deal out more damage. My melee fighter had pretty high Swords skill, and my rogue good bows that I could also use as an indicator. EDIT: Ephesos, you are an evil, evil person. Be sure to tell that trick to TM.

I made a post to that effect, but a UBB hiccup caused it to be deleted. Pull the plug. It's a computer. The debate seems to be more like "should we punish sentient computers with 'death'", except we have no reason to believe that computer ever could become sentient. I'm sure we have supercomputers that are more complex with more computing powers than a dog or cat, yet don't display the appropriate level of sentience at all. I see no reason why something should be treated as a human when it clearly isn't.

Not "with ease", "with difficulty, but doable" I forgot about that. Hang on...

The black name is kind of a tip-off for me...

Dune was the only good book in the series. Obligatory Star Wars analougy: Dune was A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back The next two were Return of the Jedi The next remaining ones written by Frank were episodes I, II, and III The rest (written by Brian Herbert) were internet stories written by obsessive fanboys.

A3 - final battle

COB is practically cheating, especially when you have enough AP to cast it twice in a round. -
Avernum 3rd time around remake :D
Dantius replied to neonexus2101's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
Because, IIRC, Geneforge is the more popular of the three series, if you don't lump Exile and Avernum together. Oh, and nobody cares about Nethergate, since it's a standalone. -
Richard III, after seeing the production by the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre.

No, a healer in one of the towns removed it for me. I'm good.

Yeah, I just got Dread Curse. How do I get it removed?

Avernum 3rd time around remake :D
Dantius replied to neonexus2101's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
We know, but it's fun to fantasize. -
I'm about 99% sure that I totally, totally screwed over my level 35 party. I dug up the Nephil chieftain in the scenario, greedy for more loot. I was moderatley dissapointed that all I go was a few coins and a wand, but oh well. Anyways, I saved and continued on my merry way. I left the area, editored myself up a rope, and climbed the cliff to recover the moonstone. I then realized that the combat with the Nephils and boars was actually really, really hard. Oh, and my priest couldn't cast all her spells, especially since she had 100+energy left. Curious, I pulled up the stats screen. Except for Mage Spells on my mage, priest spells on my priest, TU and bows on my rogue, and swords on my fighter, they had all been reset to zero. Uh oh. Is their any way short of scripting to recover this?

And exponential shaper, the most powerful of all.

Singleton Archer on Hard (Anama or Gladwell?)
Dantius replied to Oskar's topic in Second Avernum Trilogy
I haven't, though I do that all the time in Geneforge- In G5, I complete up to Kayar's Spire, and only then do I join a faction. It would probably be doable, though pretty much the only place you would have to trade at would be New Harston or Highground. Not that that matters, though. -
Where are these post that Ackrovan is promising us? I've seen him elsewhere on the forum recently, where is he?

I don't think MM improves Unlock, though. I thought it was purely the number of levels of Unlock that you had. I have been wrong before, though.
-
There's a manual? Are you talking about the hint book? I never buy those, I figure the walkthroughs and the forum should save me the ten bucks needed to buy it.
-
That's right- they are only immune to mental effects in the earlier games. Not G5.

Avernum 3rd time around remake :D
Dantius replied to neonexus2101's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
I'd rather Jeff moved on to a new series instead of coming out with a shiner version of Exile over and over again. After he makes a Blades of Geneforge, of course. -

Methinks mentioning how you pirated Jeff's games will not go down well with the mods. Or anyone else, for that matter. -
Singleton Archer on Hard (Anama or Gladwell?)
Dantius replied to Oskar's topic in Second Avernum Trilogy
I would advise not to do Gladwell, since you can get the same bonuses from Melanchion for turning in three of the items he wants, and it has the added plus of making many fewer towns hostile, especially early in the game. I wouldn't know about the Anama, though. I've never played as them. -
I still think Gazers are cooler. And smarter. And immune to mental effects.
-
Avernum 5- note the highlighted character. Geneforge 5- Rawal They have identical sprites. It would be more striking if I could find more pictures of Geneforge 5 shapers- that's about the only one.

So that's why everyone loves them. I thought it was just because they had uberhealth and sold resistances.
