Morally reprehensible? This happens on a semiregular basis at factory farms and other such mass production centers for cows and pigs. This will, one day, become your steak or sausage. Either you deny it and become a vegetarian(enjoy your pesticides), eat fish (mmmmm, heavy metals), be tormented by a guilt conscience, or accept it, like me. I find that viewing the process through the lens of the result, in this case a delicious steak, does a wonderful job of eliminating life's moral quandaries. Yes, this is my thought process in real life

Good job, Nikki, good job. I had beef for diner, and after seeing that image, it still tasted delicious.

Hey, it's fair and balanced. What more could you ask for?

Well, at least there are no Cubs fans on the forums.

Alorael: You misspelled "awesome" in the seventh word of your post .

I completely concur with Thuryl's statement. However, in Dune, you actually must stop reading in order to keep you view of the series intact. In Star Wars, even if you watch the Prequel trilogy, your respect for the OT should remain undiminished. Pretty much the only reason for watching the prequels is to see Palpatine's development, as Ian McDiarmind is literally the only good actor in the three films. Re SD: DIE HERETIC!!!!!

Hmm. I'm going the Liszt route- Mazeppa Symphonic Poem, Les Preludes, Hungarian Rhapsody no.2, Totentanz, and, of course, the Dante Symphony. Dies Irae, the Mozart, Verdi, and original version are all going strong in Top 25 most played. A couple Carmen songs thrown in for variety, and all topped off with five Carmina Burana songs, O Fortuna(because it's necessary, like it or not, and I don't like it.), Fortuna Plango Vulnera(over 1000 plays! !111one!), Estuans Interius, In Taberna Quando Sumos, and Circa Mea Pectora. I'm not sure whether I am insane, socially inept, or a genius the likes of which has never been seen. Probably all three, and a couple more on top of that, too.

You do realize that I probably read my first Asimov novel before you were born, right? If you're younger that 26, that is.

News is a waste of my time. I already have the event of the next millenia mapped out using psychohistory in preparation to establish my empire, why should I need repetitive confirmation of what I already know?

Meh. The big problem is that a.) The Spiderweb logo is set to a white background, and the island of white in an otherwise dark background is somewhat of an eyesore. What's more, since the writing itself is dark, somehow editing out the white space would leave the text unreadable. I'll stick with spiderweb_theme.

IIRC, War Blessing increases damage by 20%, and Essence Blade by another 20%. They stack, but do not multiply, so having both is only a 40% increase. Still alot, though,

Is ^ Nikki or Nalyd? The only changing avatars I can keep up with are Aloreal and Slarty because of their position on the top posters list.

It's called food styling. They get around that by not photographing actual food. Some examples: In the ads for cereal, where it is in a bowl of milk, it is not milk. No, milk is far too runny for that. Instead, they use Elmers' Glue- it looks much nicer. Oh, and those delicious-looking hamburgers at McDonald's? The cheese is a variety of plastic, as it melts better and more evenly, without bubbles, like real cheese (not that they use that at McDonald's). There are many, many other examples, but they might make you want to curl up in a ball and never eat food again in your life.

Also, maybe a mod could move this to Tech support? Thanks.

Are you installing the version from some torrent somewhere (bad), or the Spiderweb official site(good)? If it's the latter, I can't help you, but if it's the former, sometimes torrents are shady to say the least, and to try downloading it from Jeff.

Avernum 3rd time around remake :D
Dantius replied to neonexus2101's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
Jeff has explicitly stated that he won't port Geneforge to any other system. I'm not sure about Avernum, but it would be a fairly good guess that would apply to it as well. -
I;m less impressed by the fact that she reached 1000, than the fact that she got modship before she hit it- she seems to be just about the only mod with less than 2500 posts.

Lake of Trials: Time Limit? (some spoilers)
Dantius replied to madrigan's topic in Second Avernum Trilogy
You can also move the screen around, which will show if the walls changed. -
I thought that if you kept the poucho of crystals from the one quest in the Storm Plains, you could open the box. All it contains are the Ornkskin Gauntlets, which IIRC are +2 Str and Dex, and plus five Melee protection.

Favorite geneforge moments. Remembering the series[G5]
Dantius replied to Spddin Ignis's topic in Geneforge Series
Killing the ornks in the first zone can make quite a large difference in you gameplay, since they will pretty much give you a level before exiting the first zone. They have about 120 xp apiece, IIRC. -
This is why I must wear matching sets of armor in all my games: initially, I go for the basic outfit (everything worth 0 coins), then I go for the Shaped outfit, then the Puresteel ensemble, and finally the artifacts. No cheating- I I don't have all the requisite gear, then no switching! It makes for an interesting challenge.

I think that the Guardian drops a nice sword and some coins. Using dbugkill doesn't work for getting the item drops though- you have to script or use healmenow and shieldsup to kill him/her.
