  4. Not canned. Just Reprimand.
  5. Ahh Trenton, I remember you well and fondly. The one person who appreciated my rye wit, Enough so as to start a pun thread. You have my deepest Gratitude. But I sense that I am still Lepus Non Gratus. Only my maps are of interest. But mourn me not, for I have found another group on Linked In that finds me to be as encouragible as ever.
  6. Hello Slarty, long time no see.
  7. If anymore scenarios turn up missing, I also have a library of 386 scenario files. I also have Lamentations in a healthy state. Let me know if I may be of assistance.
  8. Version 2 is for a scenario file format that does not have a runtime engine to play it. I posted it up there so that people could see how I would be able to handle more objects, monsters, etc that is currently allowed in the game. If you want to develop scenarios that are playable, then you need to use version 1 Let me take a look into version 2 just so that people can get a feel for the dynamic file structure. I have documents on my site that describe both formats.
  9. Hang on I will check this out right now. For faster response time send email to hasen@flash.net .
  10. @Aloreal Beware of the C serpents.
  11. Started in Oracle DBA forum, which led to Project Management. Topics of management styles gave way to construction safety and quality awareness. This drew the attention of someone on the Italian forum for Project Management. This caught the attention of someone in Inda on their forum for Leadership. The cultural differences are fascinating, but even more striking are the similarities. In the course of following one of my connections from India, I suddenly am involved in deep discussions about leadership on the Harvard Business Review. Even there I keep running into people from halfway around the world. Somewhere along the way I have become a night owl.
  12. Been over on Linked In. Italy, India. Interesting people. Back to Harvard.
  13. Finally got around to fixing that bug in my scenario editor. Chaos has ruled for the past month.
  14. I have refrained from this General Forum for quite a while. I will not go into the reason, but I feel that I should add my tuppence to it here. As an oldbie not only in real life as well as in the world of Exile, I have had many enjoyable moments here. It was here, too, that I developed my writing style with which I have made a mark in the Linked In fora. I have enjoyed the interaction I have had here, especially those whit people whose ideas are opposite of my own. I have popped in here many, many times, but life goes on happily here. You may find me on the other fora here, but I believe this will be my last post to General. Thank you all,
  15. I'll give it a shot. I have a template almost complete to fill in.
  16. Went looking for a free XP emulator. Found this one. http://vmlite-xp-mode.en.softonic.com/ I'll give it a whirl and let you know if it works OK. Of course VirtualBox with a real XP would probably be better, I'm just looking for those who don't have winxp to install.
  17. My Win7-64bit will unzip it, but I need to set up a 32bit VirtualBox with Win98 in it. I have found some freeware win98 emulators which may do the trick as well. I'll check it out.
  18. There are freeware solutions to running the 16bit Exile games on a 64bit. You'll find that VirtualBox or DOSBox work very well. To copy the files, I have a zipped copy of the unregistered versions of each of the Exiles on my website. Just download, unzip, register or copy the misc.dat file from a registered copy and it will run. Send me a private message or email me at hasen@flash.net. if you have any trouble.
  19. There is a lot of help to be had for the Avernum series on several websites. And yes, the first three Avernum episodes follow very closely to the Exile series. I also rued the loss of 2 PC's because I had developed a good style in the Exile series.
  20. "The trick is having a non dumbfounded caster to cast it." So true.
