  1. It's perfectly reasonable to imagine spirits existing. Banishing them would be more difficult, because they would exist on a level we don't fully understand, hence the difficulty in proving/disproving them. In the same manner that animals are unable to understand the problems humanity faces and knowingly help us with them, so we are unable to knowingly aid spirits with whatever extra-dimensional problems they might be facing.
  2. I don't know, sometimes I feel like we should go to war far more often. Economy collapsed thanks to Goldman Sachs? War. Gulf of Mexico ruined by BP? War. Sarah Palin? War! Think about all the problems we could solve simply by annihilating the cause. But no, all those things I've listed are, sadly, still around and not being attacked with the full might of our military forces like they should be. Plus think of the non-partisanship it would promote. Democrats want to see these problems dealt with by big government. Republicans want to destroy things with the army. Everybody wins!
  3. That link was actually already posted in this thread, Ephesos. And it looks awesome, I must say.
  4. At this rate, you'd have to always type in all caps to catch up.
  5. Happy Birthday, Alorael! I'd give you something, but surely this thread is all you could ever want.
  6. If they were like trinkets, that would mean you'd be forced to choose more carefully as opposed to just carrying around all of them. They could be a bigger variety of effects, too.
  7. I would play any RP set in a Spiderweb world, regardless of the format. I mean, this is their forum, after all. It's practically our duty.
  8. There seems to be less inventory space than in previous Spiderweb games, so maybe scarabs act like trinkets? They took up a good amount of space by the end of Geneforge games, but I liked them. Maybe this is a streamlined version of them?
  9. Oblivion and Fallout have timers like that. But, I mean, they keep ticking even when you have the game paused, and I pause to do things like eat meals. So really the 70+ hours logged on multiple saves on those two games aren't entirely accurate, honest.
  10. Hmm, I haven't seen the loyalist ending in Geneforge 4 yet... Answer to your question: Not enough!
  11. #2 is more likely a Mega Man. [insert Anything Here] Man usually is.

Changing the layout would be difficult and would alter the game flow dramatically, so it really has to stay the same. It was said elsewhere that Avadon (what this thread was originally about) would be in Geneforge format, with zones. Which is awesome. I liked seamless, but zones are great too.
  13. I wasn't a fan of outdoors mainly because that meant there was an entire interface where I had limited exploration options. I couldn't talk to anyone, I couldn't look for loot on the ground or in containers, and I had to worry about time consuming random wandering monsters that were guaranteed to be nonessential to the game. Seamless was way better. Geneforge's system is fine, too, as it keeps the sense of scope without actually needing to travel across miles of open land. As for keeping it in the remake of Avernum 1-3, eh, you do what you gotta do. I'm looking forward to Avadon.
  14. I think #3 was the opening line of the first Terminator movie. The year was the same, at least. Man, glad we dodged that bullet.
  15. Looking at the competition, it seems like Jeff would sweep the market!

    Question.

Ephesos was on 24 minutes, 56 seconds ago. Neimand was on 14 minutes, 26 seconds ago. Student of Trinity was on 1 minute, 17 seconds ago. If you need another update, just let me know.
  17. Ah, okay. You see, I've been comparing them to iPhones, which I've seen absolutely everywhere. But that's the difference between 2.5 million sold and 50 million sold, I suppose. They can only get cheaper as time goes on, though, so making iPad games would almost certainly be a good investment none the less.
  18. Now that I think about it, I've yet to actually see anyone with an iPad, and I know a good number of tech nerds and rich people. Are they really as popular as they appear to be?
  19. Bound to send anyone crazy, indeed. I can't imagine getting that many posts. Congrats.
  20. I get the feeling that many of these quotes would make a lot more sense with context.
  21. Could you post the log maybe to hold us over?

And in the seamless world, you can check every little corner for loot or hidden enemies, unlike the outdoors, where you'd be lucky if you got a text encounter with an explanation of what was there. Sure, seamless was initially awkward what with certain cities being right next to each other (not that this bothered me, but it did throw off some people) but with a new game, where canon geography is not an issue, this should no longer be a problem. Seamless is the future. And, uh, I'd like to take the chance to mention something here that has been mentioned before, in the chance that Jeff himself might notice it here. The minimap. It would be awesome if it had a different color for land that has been explored. It would make it easier to read and thus a more useful part of the game, not to mention prettier.
