  1. How many times can you train each ability per character (umm, two, right?), and which abilities can't be trained above ten (or their respective max level) if you use a trainer before investing all skill points you can in it?
  2. Does the or less mean you can't have any more CL than the stated amount if you want to get the cache, or does it (I hope) mean something else?
  3. Thank you, I found it. It was under my documents, spiderweb, avernum 6 saved games. Something like that. I found it using the search files application...none the less, thank you. I now have the code for my game (which helps cause for avernum 4-6 I lost the CDs or CD. I lost it really soon after I got it, but I think it was one disk.) Again, thanks. Now,I just have to send the code in. Also, I now know how to unhide files and have a folder set up for new games.
  4. Okay, when I click on avernum 6 files what I see are avernum 6 sounds, graphics, graphics core, graphics pc, scripts and AV6scendata.dat. That last one is the only one with a dat ending right after clicking avernum 6 files. I have it installed in computer, OS (C:), program files (x86), spiderweb software. Thats just where it automatically installed. If that, um, helps. I'm not really a computer person. My opersting system is... windows 7 home premium. The sticker on my computer calls it WIN7 Premium. I really should have noticed the sticker before turning my computer off.
  5. Thank you for the info, and thank you spiderweb software for the great cutomer support. The avernum 6 issue is a registration code of zero. I'm suppose to delete the avernum6settings file. I can find no such file. I open the files by right clicking the shourtcut and clicking open file location. If anyone is so inclined to guide me through where to find what to delete, please, please, do. Or give me the exact file name...if what I have there and can't find isn't it...I'm more than willing to click every avernum 6 file if I'm positive of the exac file name of what to delete.
  6. Geneforge 2 won't install. Geneforege 3 won't. Geneforge 4 won't install. Geneforge 5 gives me error 1045. And thus won't install.I'm trying all of these from the disks I have. On this computer, I have the demo versions of 2-5. This is not the computer I got the games on, its my laptop. The entire issue is I'm trying to get it so I can play them on my newly moused laptop...hmm, just checked. On my main computer, I only have geneforge 2 and 3. Now, I'm concerned because overall this means I can't play 4 and 5. And I didn't check if 2 and 3 were demo versions. Why they would be, I don't know, unless somebody deleted my geneforge games (like they did for 1, 4 and 5) and I decided just to reinstall the demos while I looked for my disks. Now, see why I'm trying to get them on my laptop instead of the house computer. And why I ordered disks in the first place. Anyway,I can't use the email button on the spiderweb home page. I do not have my order number for any of these. I do have the number from my avernum 4-6 bundle, which doesn't really help. Maybe it helps that I know the email used, that at one point in time did recive the order numbers and I can email from it? I know I ordered 4 and 5 seperatly, but don't remember if I ordered 1-3 as a bundle. I think I did. I do have the address of the order, if that will suffice. Given this infromation, is there anything anyone from spiderweb software can do, or any advice anyone else can give me. (Or maybe they can use the email button to let someone know to read "Installing Problems with Geneforge 2-5 Disks") I expected these problems with disk two, because...uh...I don't really know whats stuck on it. When I put that disk in I was suprised the installer opened. When it didn't work, not so suprised. When none of them worked, really suprised. P.S. I'm not really sure how I got geneforge 1 on here. Also I suppose if this doesn't get any responses for a while, I can always try responding to the spiderweb newsletter. Note: I found the request a key link, so if that works I suppose theres no need for response to this. And I can't delete this post so...have a nice day everyone.

  10. Another quick question. I made custom characters at the start, do initial invesment in points in a skill before the game starts count towards not being able to train?
  11. Umm, i'm running into this person, is he useful for anything? What do you do when you find him, just kill him (I don't have any quest in relation to him).

So...it's one use...but it looked so cool...I like bows, I like bows, I likes bows, now I just need to repeat that 1000 more times 'till I believe it. *sigh*...thank you, although now I have not viable reason to steal the razordisk... next question; those skribbane addicts digging in a secret tunnel west of amalia(?), is there any harm in killing them? Edit: I just looked at the last three grouping of posts here. It's all you answering my questions. I think we can save room by putting this all into one post each when I'm done asking questions...
  13. Umm, last question for the time being; what type of weapon is a razordisk? Knife, polearm, thrown, bow, ect...I can cross out number 2 myself. And thx for yet another answer. P.S. Considering stealing razordisk in castle from alien thingy real early on. It its a bow type weapon, I'm taking it for my nephil.
  14. Okay, easy solution, put my current 'good hand' weapon in that slot, heavy one where it used to be. In other words, I really coulda thought of that sooner...oh, btw, I have another question in that skribbane topic. I refugee got killed, plz go look. And thx for this answer. P.S. I'm not ashamed of begging. More so since I've being asking questions all day, and never have they not been answered, and I've had to say thank-you about ten times today. I also had to add; I find this funny, being left handed I'm happy I can use the left hand of my character (finally, its one of the first things I notice on better graphic games, cause seeing a right hand being used sincerly does feel weird), and figures it gets the limitation. Lol.
  15. I tried putting an 8lb thing in my off-hand, it won't let me. What is the weight limit for off-hand weapons? Does it increase with strength, or the dual-wield skill?

  18. On the topic of skribbane, I was about to post here asking about Igner person, whom you can met very early on who is very reclusive and aggresive, and has skribbane in a chest next to him. Does he come up in any quests at all? Because I talked to him twice, then before coming here to ask, I wanted to check his name...third times the charm for getting him to attack you. Am I alright to kill him, asuming he doesn't show up in even minor quests?
  19. And the damage bonus to my bow weapons and being able to act sooner in combat means the dex isn't actually being wasted. Just that one purpose of it serves no purpose. Thank-you for the quick reply.
  20. Thanks...I'm still upset about how the training system works, although I've tried every spiderweb game at least once, and can't say it's ever been any different. Don't know what I was thinking this time around. Edit: To the post below mine, I see what I can do, and it doesn't have to be me trying to train all three times I can. Even only training nature lore up to two on both my characters means I can buy two levels overall. However; when is magic lore first useful (can I hold out completly on that till the trainer?) Whats the req for the icy rain(?) spell book in the goblin lair? That might mess me up. Oh well.
  21. Oh...does that mean gymnastics and dex investment for my mage/archer back up weapon nepil(is that spelt right)is really not useful at all, and parry would be best?

For the boots on the guy, you notice it's fluffy in the original and you have it not so much that way, while yours looks great, and it's such a trivial detail, I like fluffy boots better for that (the lining at the top). Also, as it fits here, if we did get the pics replaced eventually, I'd love to see the option of making these a version B of the originals instead, where you can pic(k) either. I'd also like to see the ability to match the face-shots and body pics with each other, non-pre-set, if do-able. Of course that wouldn't be cross-species. Also, I use that last human on a lot. And the first nephil one, as well as the 6th human one (due to the potria for the roster, not the actual in-game movable one which is why I think the ability to match those would be great). Umm...hope this was helpful. Really like the way you did the leather by the waist too. Also, it would be really easy to take the bow out and still keep to how the pic originally looks. P.S. I had to open the game twice to look at stuff. Really like what you have so far.
  23. ...I highly dislike this. But thank you for the answer. On to another question; I'm trying a play-through with a warrior with dual-wield and a cat-thingy mage with bow as a back up weapon; how could I train these two and play-through the game to get the best results with training? Is being able to train at all using these trainers even important?
  24. That...is true actually, I never thought about how that would make the changing the difficulty pretty much pointless.
