  1. Getting 5 keys isn't impossible. It requires manipulating your reputation and a lot of betrayal. I went Alwan - Astoria - Trakovite - Taygen and got all the keys. In my opinion Astoria's bed chamber and the locked part of the Dera vault provide better stuff than the repository. The canisters are nice though.
  2. It is possible to complete the trakovite "release the shredbugs" quest after leaving Astoria's faction. Likewise it is possible to complete the "control core B" quest after leaving Alwan's faction. I did both and completed the quests no problem. Similarly, reputation plays much less of a role (actually no role) after starting down the path of the factions by receiving their quests. That means that once you have the reputation in order to receive the initial quest(s) to start faction initiation, you can then reverse your reputation and still continue along the "opposing" faction quest tree (i.e. - I kept getting trakovite quests mentioned above despite my pro-shaper reputation).
  3. Thanks randomizer. I'm feeling not so lucky with the random drops this game...
  4. Where can I find glaahk eyes? Can I obtain 6 total?
  5. I have the same question - what are you investing your points in? I agree with Thuryl take them on only one at a time. Investing in parry and dexterity (increasing your chance that they miss I believe) help avoid the two hit stunlock. You may need to reload quite a bit though with your build.
  6. I just found a better solution to deal with the golems - don't. If you have creations you can pass through the golem room with your main character without your creations following. The golems will not become hostile if your creations are not in the room with you. Your main character can pass safely to the other side (grabbing the treasure while you're there) and then have your creations follow after. The encounter is avoided pretty easily.
  7. Not only is it possible, but I would encourage not spending a single point on shaping skills with an agent (actually infiltrator would be better). You can buy two points in each shaping skill if you join Alwan's faction (which I encourage even if you switch at a later time). You can craft several girdles to add to your shaping skills. Finally you can get a shaper robe, black pearl talisman, and volcanic fetish to add points too. You therefore can get 8-9 points in each shaping skill without ever spending a single point - not too bad.
  8. As a singleton though, what I did was when running low on health in a battle: run around the nearest corner without enemies nearby and hit end combat button. Then, heal myself quickly (have heal spell on f5 - pump as fast as you can), then let the enemy reinitiate combat. Works very well if you're fast (and have hit them with acid and/or lightning damage).
  9. Relax, your problems are perfectly normal (yes even on normal difficulty). I don't and haven't taken on unbounds until after level 45. Perhaps it's my play-style, but really, it's a good thing because the unbound are one of the few enemies that will give you experience at high 40's and 50's. I admire your persistence not to cheat, stick with it. This may sound trite, but go somewhere else. Try new tactics. The mid-game hump (which you are definitely in) is normal and once you pass it, things will get MUCH easier (you'll be surprised). Good luck.
  10. Battle shaping simply shouldn't be ignored in GF5, pretty much every battle shaping creation is useful at some point in the game. I would focus on this skill before the other two. Since shock troopers also focus more on melee rather than magic you might think battle shaping would be redundant, but I found this is rarely the case. For trouble spots you will probably want to have a second shaping skill to develop around mid-game or so. I'm a personal fan of cryoas and especially wingbolts. I found drakons not to be as useful in GF5 as in previous games. I wasn't too much a fan of gazers either, although I have read others like them quite a lot. I found vlish to be nice offensively, but tend to die quickly and therefore I didn't use them much. I can't really say much about Glaahks because I didn't use them, but they might be worthwhile. Above all, do not forget to invest in healing craft. I found myself casting healing aura before almost every battle (as you'll be weak in magic and have fewer aura choices normally). Fortunately, late in the game you can craft firesteel gauntlets which can give you access to some useful mental and blessing magic. As a shock trooper never invest in blessing magic, there are many items to raise it and there's a canister for it in Benhold's hideout.
  11. Absorb your creations and hide in the southeast corner where you take no damage from the golems.
  12. Are you a power-gamer? Do you plan do join any particular faction?
  13. It really depends on your build and play style, but I'm partial to the guardian claymore. It can be a bit tricky to get, you have to kill a guardian while liberating camp dranir. The charmed falchion worked well for me several times throughout a large portion of the game as well.

Mass madness is your friend in all of these fights.
  15. Rawal isn't that bad. In fact, no other character gives you more throughout the game than Rawal (including several major stat boosts and a nice charm). Granted, enslaving you and placing a living tool in your chest isn't that great, but you get rid of it eventually.
  16. If you're killing patchworks in the demo you're doing well (what difficulty?) You can't get into any of the bays without a key, but you can still open the way to the mental focus charm.
  17. The unbound on the north citadel road will trigger after you cross the bridge to the south. After you get the message that it's on its way, you can either run to the west for help from the gate guards or hide and let the unbound destroy the guards. The guards don't provide anything of value (in fact you can steal their stuff if you let the unbound kill them then kill the unbound). Late in the game you can enter the Citadel east ward from here if you're in the right faction. Also, terror can work well on a single unbound.
  18. Disposal vault. One of the pairbound constructs drops it.
  19. Shredbugs are not a problem. I have never received experience from killing a shredbug. Compared to the unbound they are about as difficult to kill as cryoas. Then again, they do a good job of destroying Kaz if unleashed.
  20. Parry was the best in GF2 where instead of 4 out of 10 attacks being repelled, 9.8 out of 10 attacks were repelled with the same skill point investment. Unfortunately, it's never been the same since.
  21. Where might I find the drakonian plate?
  22. OK Goldenking, I can agree with you on Pol. Although Lankin started to become shaped, I would say Therese is a more likely candidate. Mouawad was in Rivergate to keep an eye an Alwan. The council doesn't trust anybody, etc. I figured she died along with another to make 7.
  23. If shaping were at a low point in any game it would be GF3. Having Alwan and/or Greta available reduced the need for support significantly. GF2 would be second, there are all sorts of creations and random things to pick up (roamers, rats, thahds, a servile, etc.) GF4, if anything, brought back the need to shape powerful creations. I found this especially true battling the Titan.
  24. Will try that on this next play-through, thanks Randomizer.
