  1. Yes, but thats the point, isn't it; they use the shortcut. The shapers on the other hand, have undergone years of hard training to gain those abilities. Surely that should count for something. See how the rebels can make only 'charged' creations with a short lifespan.
  2. Hmm...Interesting. I turn into a gazer and back again a few times, just to test the extent of my powers. In my human form, I tell the guards to go back home. But what about the green things the scout reported on?
  3. I cast a small healing spell on the guard. Then I use the canister, out of temptation.
  4. I order the team of soldiers to attack as soon as the rebels' backs are turned. The captain and my creations concentrate on killing the drayk first, as it is the greater threat. I stay out of sight, until the drayk has been heavily weakened (I emerge only to deal the final death blow).
  5. I just read your first page. I think you should use numbered superscripts (1,2 etc) to indicate footnotes. The series of asterisks on a single page make it a bit confusing. Your book is tastefully written, and you did well in porting it outside of the UBB; the theme of the website now matches the mood of the story very well, which makes for a very entertaining read.
  6. I keep my creations beside me, hide behind a tree and watch them carefully. I tie a small message (requesting the captain to send reinforcements) to the the neck of my roamer and send it back to town.
  7. Oh, right. So MMXPERT was actually helping Trenton out by giving him the stone from above. (I'd thought that he had thrown a stone at Trenton's head in a fit of rage.)

  9. I went back, and carefully read the posts I had missed. Trenton killed himself in confusion over a stone. Monster stitched him up and brought him back to life. Then our gamemaster dropped a stone on Trenton's head, thus killing him again Boy, this game is getting sooooo crazy...
  10. I didn't, either. But then, my first post was in one of those hotly-discussed topics of the time, that nobody had any time to welcome anybody else.

  12. Whoo... We've discussed many ideas on the Next-Geneforge-That-Can-Be, but this one takes the icing on the cake. Its the ideas which matter, of course, and the resources of the those who thought them out.Spiderweb has an idea about a world of shapers. If the same had occurred to any of the major game-development companies, and they thought it was worth it, we would have been playing Geneforge in 1st-person view with a real-time combat system...*hmm*
  13. Oh. I thought you had a battle coming (which's why I offered a creation), but being a town shaper is even more difficult; it calls for some really fine handling of delicate situations (augh, Politics ). Personally, I think you handled them quite well.
  14. How can you consider yourself lucky when a stone falls on your head ? And what task are you feeling uneasy about ? Perhaps I can lend you a roamer(I have two).

Reason 3: Can't you just forgive me just this once? In most online games, they give some people a single chance even for hacking. Hacking is much more worse than posting pictures. Well, I know it is also my fault for posting that many pictures. It's just to elaborate what I said. I also don't like people being angry at me at the forums. And what's more, It is really boring when you don't have the simple imaginary games like this. I hope you understand -Monster's nightwatcher Well put, Monster. Very well put. (*Clap-Clap*)
  16. Hey, just *WHAT* has been happening over here ? ------------------------------------------- If you can think of any other way to place a greater emphasis on the 'what', then tell me.
  17. What happened to Drakefyre and Donald Hebb? Did they just suddenly realise that they weren't really interested in posting after all, and resign? Or mysteriously stop responding? Or is it that they are now in the land of eternal dreams? (Forgive me for speaking out of topic, but this question has been bubbling around inside me for quite some time now, and I just had to ask.)
  18. Speaking of your signature, I see you've quoted the forum's welcome line. Does anyone know who started the custom of greeting new arrivals with that message? (Just curious)
  19. Wonderful Pic. Did you try killing the Ornk-Rawal ? I mean, will the health and abilities of the people still remain the same after the ornking?
  20. Reminds me of a spell in warcraft (I think it's polymorphism). Its used by sorceresses to turn people into sheep.

  23. @Monster: Hm, want to battle me? You're on! @MMXPERT: It would be nice if you could club the three of us together in the midst of the story. You know, multiplayer gaming. By the way, I don't envy your job as Gamemaster - you have to keep track of so many stories!
  24. whaaaat ???!!! I'll definitely be reporting that fellow when I get home...Oh, so I have to take care of the town. I create four roamers and put them on guard at the four corners of the town. Then I appoint 4 scouts to go on rounds to the nearby areas (one in each direction) to find any suspicious activities or rebels. I tell the people that I'm the new shaper here, and that they should come to me if they need any help.

You would also be moving around in towns with seven creations trailing along in a single line, with the ability to move only in straight lines or right angles, and even without the nice walking animation. :shudder: Yay, 100th post
