I just registered at calref.net, but I can't log in.

Wow, this thread caught the attention of Jeff himself.
But if Spidweb is Jeff Vogel, then who is Stareye ?

I like the idea of the in-mind interface.
Maybe a chip could be planted in your brain, so that closing your eyes for a second triggers a control panel's appearance in front of you. You then concentrate on a particular button to 'press' that control.
Which can then be used for, maybe, turning the television on or handling other mundane objects.

So this is Minecraft. Hm, nice images.

Hm, nice. Its as old as me, but the satire still holds.

On a lighter note,

A: I use Macs. But it is more important that the fans of the two platforms must unite, settle our differences, and go beat the living crap out of those weenie Amiga people.

Andariel, I would like to share my experiences with you.
Being a Windows user myself, I can understand - I've experienced the feeling; nothing can describe the frustration I've felt by seeing the oh-so-awesome screenshots, trailers, hearing everyone praise the game, and jealously watching the mac users posting in the AEFTP section (while not being able to join in).
I put up a fuss, (though,I must say, mine wasn't as well worded as yours
) darkly hinting that the company was being partial to mac users and would risk losing its PC fan-base if it continued in this fashion. And I was wondering why Spiderweb didn't put more effort into ensuring that the release dates of all the platforms coincide. That's when I heard that the company has only three people, with only one programmer(Jeff). I knew that SW was a small company, but -three employees ?- that was way too less than I had expected, and I didn't even believe it until I checked out the SW website which has info on all three of them. In fact, its amazing that such a small team has survived all these years making one game after the other, and each one better than the last (in graphics, storyline and overall enjoyability). And it explains the windows release date. Also, from what I hear, it isn't so much the actual porting that takes up time as the beta-testing to ensure that the PC version works to perfection without any errors.
And, however much I would like a quicker release, an error-ridden game is something I will never look at. If an error crops up when I'm playing a game, I just chuck it in the bin (uh, delete it) right away without a second thought.
-
So it got released already. That's great.
I'll do my share of grinning, but only when the windows version is out. Ah, we've waited too long. Since its just around the corner, I'm checking the SW page every time I'm online.
-
Me too (Windows)!
I have no scenarios to my name, but I've played (still playing, in fact) many of the ones over here.
-
If only I could figure out when that date is, in my part of the world.
(Maybe it'll even be April 10th or 9th for me; I'm keeping my fingers crossed.)
-
I wouldn't have thought that possible.
Maybe Spiderweb's version is newer than Bigfish's and the problem has been corrected in the newer version.
-
Congratulations everyone!

I kept editing and re-editing my post, cursing the UBB, until I finally saw that every mod in every post had their name changed.

And I'd thought that upside-down rowen was part of the joke too.

April 11th, that sounds good. When I heard "april" I was thinking of early may, so its nice to have a definite date.
and hopefully, they aren't trying to pull an april fool's joke.

What's the difference between the two ?
Does "forgiveme" remove traces of all the character's crimes ?

Is it the old Shareware Demon(that was amusing enough).
But having your explode because you refused to submit to its demands is pretty mean.

It's not just two phases. The player's turn itself consists of several rounds; one round for each character in your party. And this order (of deciding which party member plays first) depends on dexterity etc. This is the way it was made.
What I'm unsure of is whether the party is considered as a single unit (like in the first Avernum series) or if the "Enemies' Turn" and "Players Turn" are intermingled (ie, there is no such distinction). Can Party Member 1 attack, then an enemy attack and only then the control returns to Party Member 2 ?

Artemis Fowl was described to me as being fantasy fiction similar to the Bartimaeus Trilogy.
It's not.
I'm thinking of going in for the Solomon's Ring. Must be good, being Stroud's work.
