Thanks, Slarty. You've made me see reason. I do resent the last paragraph, though. You should cushion your blows a bit more.
Nikki, I'm sorry. I was overreacting; I take smileys a little seriously.

It's Spiderweb Smiley Awards 2012 !!! Which lucky emoticon will be voted as The Spiderweb's Smiley ?

This poll is a tribute to our little friends who make our posts so colourful and fun to read!

I haven't played any games which use DLC, but I get the idea. What can Spiderweb games have as an extra download ? Having new maps/storyline wouldn't make much sense. And I doubt anyone will pay for new weapons or spells.

I develop a bond with the characters I start out with. It's hard to remove one of them and create/recruit someone else.
Though not so with creations. -

Jerakeen is right. It didn't really strike me as stupid (only 'natural') until now.
Still, I don't suppose Avadon has any choice, if some fellow suddenly kills the old Keeper and declares himself to be the new one. Besides ganging up on the little upstart, defeating him, and then electing a new Keeper by popular vote.
And I'm placing my money on Redbeard returning as Keeper. Sure, he'll be on a machine, unable to move his hands and legs even to feed himself and will probably be hardly able to talk without a gurgling sound...but it'll still be Redbeard.

For-servile-rights mentality is probably a requirement for modship. *grin* -
Um, I may be wrong of course, but I think this is slightly ridiculous. What do you have to do to get one?
(I'm not asking for a title.)
(See, this is what I meant :-P )

Nice.

You're right, prose does make for a better read than script.

I've seen lockers in English movies. Must be nice. -
That looks interesting; I'll try LastPass. UBB's random password generator had given me "iQrCFg" when I had forgotten mine. Not very creative, but I suppose with all those upper and lowercase letters it must be hard to get at.
I had read somewhere that websites and software have become so secure that they can no longer be dictionary-attacked or trial-and-errored, and that the only sure fire way of getting a person's password is through logging the person's keystrokes.

There may be a couple of people who don't want their life publcized, but still let the truth out in a poll as they feel uncomfortable selecting an option which isn't true.
Having picked a couple of less-chosen options myself, I'm glad that some minority options have been clubbed together into the 'other' bar.

The Empire doesn't come into it, but this concept of Vahnatai transforming into shapers seems to be shared by many people.

So the Geneforge's are really very popular; I'd thought that the boards were filled with die-hard Exile/Avernum fans.
-
Isn't that a waste of essence, seeing as only some of it is used for spellcasting ?
-
Still, I'd always have played as an agent if only there was an option to choose a male graphic. I just find it hard to associate myself with a female character.

You know, I'd thought that the radio refuge button was just a joke.

You don't aim using your weapons and spells; you just select an attack and then click on the enemies. It makes no difference whether you clicked on the head, or on the tail.
You can't always hit, and you can't always miss, so it's usually somewhere in between. So I guess there has to be some sort of formula in turn-based RPGs which decides whether you 'hit' the enemy or not.

Nightwatcher is spelt backwards. Trenton used to change his costume and PDN every few days. Nobody knows what BMA stands for.

It looks like you wanted a higher level of enemy AI with an increased difficulty level. With the enemies attacking you with a lot more cunning and a higher level of strategic planning. And then there is the difficulty thingy. The game had no difficulty whatsoever, just shitloads of HP for monster. No strategies and character placement. Just whack, whack whack, heal, whack, whack, whack, heal and hour later we have a dead monster.I always play at the default difficulty level and I'm no expert, but I believe increasing/decreasing the difficulty only affects the statistics of play, and nothing else.

Now that was a nice change from boring old UBB polls.
Google rocks.

I've never tried script-modding. But you can memory-mod all of the Geneforge games (in real time, while they are running) and be able to shape up any creation you want (guards, rats, shapers, golems etc) which the game doesn't normally permit you to create. You can even transform yourself into a creation.

I started off on this forum four years ago with G3 modding. And got dissapointed with the Geneforge modding community (because it doesn't exist). Note that I can only speak for Windows, but it is possible on a Mac also.

Seriously though, I agree with Aerodactyl. It was a good read.

Custom Titles?
in General
Posted
You're right, Nite, but its all this speaking about custom titles, while convincing the mods that you're not asking for one, when they know all along that you're dying to get one...which I called ridiculous.
