I searched the forums and couldn't find help on this particular topic. Hope it's not a repeat!

I've made my way to Erika's Tower, but I can't get very far inside. When I get to the northern-most lever, the second one, I pull it to open the portcullis, but it always closes before I get to it. I've tried being careful to stay on the carpet, I've tried going down both sides, approaching the lever from different directions... Whenever I reach the columns, the gate closes.

I hope there's a solution to this. I can't find too much do outside the tower, so I have a hunch I have to work my way through the inside or I'm stuck. I'd prefer not to go back to an earlier game save if I don't have to.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
