  1. I did it with a level 42 shaper, with well leveled creations: 2 rothgoths, 1 clawbug, 1 drayk, and 1 wingbolt. They all survived. Mass Cure Affliction, Mass Heal, Banish Affliction, Regeneration Aura, Battle Aura, Speed, Shield, Major Heal, Bless all came in very handy. I think I may have used 1 or 2 essence pods too. The hardest part was the very beginning, where it was easy to get stuck fighting 2 unbounds at the same time. Pick them off one at a time, and it's very doable.

  3. Discovering the level and attribute dependencies would be certainly. But I would just be happy if I could know the base numbers.
  4. Is there a concise writeup for each type of creation? Something like - Damage Types - Ranged and Melee attacks - Resistances - Armor - Health etc....
  5. Thanks for the descriptions. I'll look at finding room for chaotic and berserker pods for hard situations.
  6. Yeah, I decided to store all the specific damage resistance items (rings, cloaks, boots, etc) that didn't help my creations. It is VERY rare that my shaper ever gets damaged, so defensive items like these are nearly useless. So what's left are items that: - give resistances to creations - increase attributes of creations - add to skills (spellcraft, healing, blessing, battle magic, and shaping) - increase attributes of the PC (anything with intelligence boosts in particular) - are healing and curing pods/spores (although the non-group items perhaps should be stored, they are VERY rarely used) - are essence pods (a MUST for overwhelming odds) - are charms - increase mechanics, leadership, sneaking, and luck - plus a few emergency offensive items (wand of death, slow); RARELY if ever used Now more than half my inventory is open for looting. Muuuuch better! I may re-inventory some of the other group enhancing pods/spores that I never use, but could be useful in a pinch. Some I have no idea what they do, like berserker and chaotic pods. I've been using almost all the magic skills, except mental doesn't seem to be very effective offensively. DIrect damage spells are used just occasionally for the extremes (cleanup with no essence spells for easy opponents, and helping to take down overwhelming enemies with lightning aura). My favorite is battle aura + speed + protection + war blessing to weaken/slow/stun enemies with creation attacks. Apply acid and poison all around with a Clawbug and Rotghroths. Sometimes switching to regeneration aura after using battle aura for particularly damaging opponents once the enemies have been weakened/slowed. All creations have at least 2 intelligence for control. Also, I never let a creation die. Keeping leveled creations seems like a no brainer until you can create something better.
  7. Thanks for the replies! Sorry for sounding pissy, I was in bad mood... It's the moving of loot that's really irritating. All crafting stuff is up by the forge in the Testing Halls. I'll try finding a few good chests in Kratoa-Kel! I replaced my alpha with another Rotghroth and a Clawbug (about level 35) with a WingThing. Things are going much faster! Are any the creation upgrades and stat boosts worth it?
  8. Made it through the Mara-Tev with My Shaper, and am now going through the Farmlands in the Storm Plains. The constant back and forth to store loot, with the annoying fast travel interruption over the mountains is really getting to me, as well as all the trash encounters and loot. Maybe Wingbolts will make it more interesting than my Clawbugs, Rotghroth, and Beta? The Shaper mainly heals and buffs while the creations do the dirty work... ALSO! Is there a way to inspect your creation's resistances and armor?

  10. Once items start to pile up to high they start disappearing from the pickup up. It's fixable by moving items away off the high piles. The missing items will reappear at the bottom of the pickup list. And yes character graphics can disappear at about the same time.

  12. No, a game that n person(s) don't enjoy, doesn't make a game bad. A game that is universally not enjoyed, is probably bad, though.
  13. Bahh, it was very playable, and fun at that. What was the last RPG you finished? What percentage of RPGs have you actually finished? How many have you played? I've finished every single one I've played, except Daggerfall because of a game killing bug...
  14. Would howling depth enemies respawn, too? For some reason I never tried going back to Anama lands. Wasn't sure of a good welcome.
  15. Do you know about traits at character creation time? EDIT: That should be human, good catch. All these fantasy games start to blend together...
  16. I think the trick I used for the giant test was to stay in one corner at a time to limit exposure to 1 or 2 giants max. Proper application of leg sweep and shield breaker was essential here and throughout the game. It just took a couple tries here. The part I disliked was the endlessly respawning enemies along the way to Dorikas castle. Now that was tedious junk encounters! Most of the game was balanced just right for me (on normal difficulty). This was with a 4 person party, all having the divinely touched trait. Slith poleman elite warrior Feline archer / priest pure spirit (minor in thrown) Human priest pure spirit (minor in swords) Human natural mage All had decent bow skills, with the Feline having much better. The game did require tactical thought, which I loved. The only thing I regret with the party build was not having enough lock and traps skills for the hardest locks. BTW, I just finished Knights of the Old Republic II, and I though it was really good, although at the end it really turned into a hack n slash with too many repetitive junk encounters. I think I preferred it to KotOR I.
  17. Yeah it was pretty tough. I second the summons recommendation to distract him, and firing/spelling at him from a distance while ignoring the zombies. Keep your distance and always near an altar.
  18. The lever to open the door is particularly hard to see. I recommend using the u command while searching for it to reveal all objects on screen.
  19. Did you move/spread out stuff enough so that when moving to each location, the ground boxes have some empty slots? If not, then they could still be hidden there.

  21. lol! Thankfully real life is not nearly as capricious as RPGs.
  22. Not only that, but my characters phased out and became invisible when there was too much junk in the master pylon room! I'm an extreme collector, never knowing if I should save something or sell it until I get near the end of the game. Scary?
