Is there a way to see how many canisters you've used at any point. I meant to keep track but I forgot to.

This maybe a dumb question:

Ok, so I purchased Geneforge 1, 2, and 2 awhile ago and brought the CD as well. I got the urge to play them again and reinstalled them from the CDs. But how can I upgrade them to the latest version? The only links I can find on the website are for a new 'demo' version of the game.
