  1. It's been really cool and rainy for April/May here, but now the nice weather is finally starting. Of course, now people will all complain about how hot it is until September.
  2. Ooh, I just finished reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy, it was very good. I'm looking forward to watching the movie, but I'm sure they'll botch it somehow. I also read The Fourth Realm Trilogy by John Twelve Hawks. It's a very interesting series of books about parallel universes, specifically about travelers who can visit the other realms and about a shady government agency that wants to eliminate them. It's also describes how the government is using the internet and video cameras to watch it's citizens. Right now I'm reading The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson. It's about a man who wakes up in the hospital from a car accident to find a mysterious woman watching him who proclaims that they have known each other since the 13th century.
  3. Try Aveyond, it's a huge world to explore with lots of quests and a turn-based combat system. I had lots of fun playing it anyways. There's also sequels and such.

This is terribly disappointing. It is the same flimsy justification for having important, powerful people throw fate-of-the-world type quests at nobody adventurers that we have seen from Exile 3 all the way through Geneforge 5 and Avernum 6. Sounds like the plot of every rpg I've ever played, like Neverwinter Nights, Dungeon Siege, Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, Sacred and yes, the Spiderweb series as well....seriously, you're either a promising student that gets thrown into battles between good and evil or your a lowly adventurer that gets thrown into battles between good and evil. My point is every rpg does this, not just Spiderweb, lol.
  5. I usually use a mouse that comes with the computer, unless it stops working, then I buy a new one. Logitech and Microsoft are my preferred brands. I don't like wireless mice, because I end up having to change the batteries every 3 weeks which is not acceptable to me. I also like optical mice and not the trackball ones. Oh and yes, it needs to go into USB too.
  6. Oooooh, awesome! Downloading and installing as I type...hehe
  7. Mantracker is awesome, you'll have to let us know whether you get accepted so we can totally watch the episode! As for the question, I wouldn't discuss abortion, the death penalty or sex. I guess it would be a pretty boring dinner party then.....

    Taking a recess

Good luck Ackrovan, we'll see you later!
  9. Very nice house pictures Lilith! Congrats on being a homeowner. Looking forward to seeing your fantastic decorating skills later.
  10. I'm surprised no ones mentioned David Eddings yet! If you're looking for some good fantasy works to really sink your teeth into, then his Belgariad and Malloreon series are really good. Both series have five books, and make sure you get the two companion novels: Polgara the Sorceress and Belgarath the Sorcerer.
  11. I've downloaded the demo and I liked it a lot, I've considered purchasing it a couple of times. The only thing that stopped me was that I've never finished the demo, I've always been distracted by some other game. But I really did like it, the only part I didn't like was that the traveling seems to be really slow.
  12. Very nice avatars Diki! I like them a lot, but am still on my X-Files/Scully kick for the moment.
  13. I pledged, and I also tweeted about it! Good luck with your endeavor!
  14. Great artwork Josefo! Very well done, I would love to use your graphics in my game.
  15. I like the Dungeon Siege series, and have you tried Eschalon: Book 1? There's also the Aveyond series (2d rpg).
  16. Wait, one of the quests I have is to find a guy named Koepp (sp?) who was last seen fleeing towards Fort Emerald. Now I went to Fort Emerald but I thought the reason I couldn't get in was because I had the demo version. Now I understand that I won't be able to get into Fort Emerald at all? Does that mean that Koepp is not inside Fort Emerald, and if so can I complete the quest while still playing the demo? On a side note, not being able to get into Fort Emerald kinda sucks, I like being able to explore every part of the game.

    Hot Dogs

Yes, that's why I wanted clarification that we were only talking about hotdogs in this thread cause they are two separate things and I didn't want to confuse the two.
  18. Well, thank god it fixes that then, phew! That was so annoying in A5....all you could do was cast heal over and over again and hoped it wore off soon. Plus, your party didn't get to cast awesome searing lightning. Do we get to learn it in A6?
  19. Originally Posted By: waterplant Curing Elixur cures lightning effect. I'm talking about the searing lightning (or whatever it was called) that was in A5, like I said I don't know whether it's in A6 or not....there wasn't any way of curing it (to my knowledge) in A5.

Yeah but when you play modern rpgs (like Diablo, Dungeon Siege, basically every single RPG ever made, lol) you click on the enemy to attack all the time, so when I'm playing a Spiderweb game sometimes I click first and forget to check the path.
  21. In the actual building? or in the cave surrounding the building? Is it in a room that's protected by a force field? I could have sworn I traipsed all over that tower looking for it..... And yeah, I kinda figured that's how it was for Blosk.
  22. Yeah, definitely increase your luck, and try to kill all the basilisks very fast. Haste all your party and then have every party attack the basilisks.....even your mage and priest, have them attack with smite or firebolt or whatever. Or you could also have your priest cast the Protection spell...I forget what it's called. The one with the shield anyways.
  23. I like the teleportation option as well, fabulous, much more better than walking all over the place. I do wish there was a pop-up screen that gave you the option of which town you would like to go to (instead of teleporting you automatically to the Portal Keep). I also wish there were more pylons in various options....maybe our PCs could construct our own that would be cool. In an rpg called Two Worlds, there's a quest to find some materials for a wizard and once you do, he constructs a transport stone for you that can transport you to any portal on the map. In fact, lots of games have options that let you teleport whenever you need to (in addition to the standard portals) whether it's something you carry around in your inventory or a spell or scroll. Hey on a side note, I couldn't find the pylon for Patrick's Tower or Blosk, do they have them?

    Hot Dogs

I prefer the chicken hotdogs when buying them in a supermarket, the beef ones just taste gross. However when purchasing from a hot dog vendor, the beef ones are amazing. This is only about hotdogs right, not about sausages? Because they're two entirely different things.
