I've been thinking about writing a fic about Solberg for a few years, but I never do it because i dunno where i would post it.

Interesting that no one seems to have anything to say to my last post. Does no one else do what i mentioned?

I'm hoping I'll run into him on one of these occasions when I'm up there.... That would be so awesome.... It would be on par with meeting George Lucas....sweet! As for the bookishness....yeah, this area is like that for quite a few people. Not all of course.

Well, now I see what the criticism about G3 was. hmmm. Any way, I disagree with most of the criticism, but then, the system getting a small amount clunkier doesn't bother me-I play games like this from a roleplaying view, and also sometimes a powergaming view, in which case I roleplay a power-hungry maniac. hehe, nice. The boats are mildly annoying though.

true, that. now I've played a little more, i know how annoying island travel is. I like the inventory system though, like G4. Just wish the encumbrance system was the same as G4.

also, whenever a hit kills a doomguard, it doesn't split, so the harder you are hitting the better.

meh, I'd rather play Geneforge normally and crunch in some good roleplaying. Or, ya know, just powergame;)

On the rare occasion I use creations, I actually have several unique creations that I simply re-shape. Loki, the loyal battle-scarred Cryoa. Thor, The Immensely strong Ur-Drakon. Zombor, The Rotdhizon. Smash and Crash, The pair of battle Alphas. Smash is missing his left eye and is intelligent (for a battle Alpha), and Crash has no nose because it was bitten off a while ago. and a few others. When i re-shape them, I keep everything the same, including mental attributes. Don't ask why-I'm not sure myself. EDIT: not all of their names ares stolen from other sources:))

I always save every single usable potion, crystal, pod, whatever and use all but the most useful like crazy, as soon as i need them. I also buy them all. I haven't tried doing that in the new Avernums though. I do the same thing with thorns and thorn batons. I will shoot them empty, then sell the extras. I throw all javelins, use all crystals, etc. I keep every single magical and shaped item in my vakkiri/drypeak/mobile G3 hoard, and I pick up every single item i find in the game, and the unsellables end up in a separate hoard. I keep all food, and i buy out every single store that has weapons that can be 'used up'. I also save all shaping supplys until i hit collection quests, and all other collection items. and before buying out shops, i buy training. By the end of the game I am so well equipped and powerful, i clear every area. YAY! EDIT: on the rare occasion i need cash really badly, I sell duplicate pieces of equipment, like shaped boots that there are usually several of etc.

I knew there had to be a use for all the alcohol stores!!!!

Have you played Geneforge 2 at all? Do you read the text at the beginning of the game that tells you about the world? Do you talk to everyone in the shaping areas? If so, you should have known most of that. Play Geneforge 2 and 3, they tell you lots about how Those things work if you pay attention.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I can't remember or apparently find wherever the spell Avatar is in the game! someone help please- I'm trying to not use the character editor this play through!

I tried too, I could never figure it out. EDIT: on the subject of Geneforge, I have heard that, many people usually go with the awakened or the shapers on the first playthrough, is it odd that i always play unaligned my first time?

Hmmm, I don't care about getting the game free, I am more concerned with my 2 reasons for wanting to do it. I figure I would buy it any way just to support Jeff. First, to see a game that isn't QUITE finished completely, always thought it would be interesting, and second, If i find major glitches or issues that I tell him about to correct, the game is better for when I do play it! yay!

The easiest way to kill a doomguard if you don't have Shockwave is to use all the blessing magics and, if you have it, Protection or Avatar, Then go melee crazy on them. Takes a while though.

The one thing about many enemies in Exile was the complete immunity to most forms of magic. I preferred Avernum's system of immunity to 1 or 2 immunities and then resistances in most cases. But i still prefer Exile's versatile magic system over Avernum's

I just recently resolved the exact same issue. I emailed Jeff with the name my mom registered under and my registration codes, he emailed me the new keys. Simple.

will G3 explain why they were locked behind the door? or was the answer in G2 and i didnt play enough of it/need to play the taker story?
