  1. I've been patiently waiting for Geneforge to come out on IOS, but I'm getting antsy. Has anybody heard rumors of a release date, or estimated date?
  2. Oh duh. Never mind, I just discovered that move mountains is a priest spell!
  3. I’m playing my second time through as Anama characters. It’s going great except there are some things I need that are behind fallen rock piles and I don’t have any more shatter stone scrolls. The move mountains spell is a mage spell so I’ll never get it. Can I buy scrolls somewhere?
  4. I don't post here often, but have been a fan for more than a decade now. I play lots of games on my ipad but Spiderweb is the only developer who is an insta-buy for me. When Jeff announced this Kickestarter, it was also an insta-donation. There are some things I'd like to suggest changes for also, but the bottom line for me is that he delivers really engaging, immersive, quality games - at super affordable prices - and compared to all the competition out there, well.... Jeff is a rock star in my book. I hope he sees the fact that he got fully funded in one day as the show of appreciation that it is from fans like me. I can't wait to name a character as part of my pledge! VERY exciting!
  5. I’ve been completely through the slime pit, cleaned it out and went through a second time just to be sure. Still haven’t found this Erin person. I assume she’s one of the dead bodies lying around but which one, where?
  6. I snuck into guhkbars pit following the fairy’s advice. Is the only way out again to kill guhkbar? If so, I’m boned.
  7. I have the rebels marked on my map in the corrupted lands area and when I go to take care of that quest, they wipe the floor with me. My character is a blade master and I usually take a shadow walker and sorceress, but have also tried taking a tinkermage to set up some turrets. No joy either way. If I was playing Avernum, I know to go explore other places and come back when I'm stronger, but I've explored everything I'm allowed access to here, so can't do that. I could sure use some help, a hint for another quest I can do or hidden place with monsters to fight, anything. Here are the quests I currently have in my list: Rebels at kirik tor - see above The envoy - met the lady once no idea where to find her again Nicodemus crafts - found one item for him, nothing else so far Closing up shop - talked to the trinket guy who won't give me the stuff until I beat back the corruption. Tried sneaking in to steal them and the constructs clean my clock The worst of them - come back later Drake diplomacy - come back later Corruption bits - come back later So... help?
  8. Ah okay, thanks guys. I'm okay with the castle quest sticking in my list knowing it's a bug. I just didn't want to miss something that I should have found/done. Also interesting about the wrapped bug. I totally DID miss that, so I'll head back over there and check it out.
  9. Okay, Jeff says that my saved game was normal, no bugs and that I am in the wrong place to kill Garzhad. So here is what I think happened. I actually did get the crystal soul the first time through that area, fought with Garzahd on the rooftops but he was kicking my behind and I realized that I didn't yet have Demonslayer, so I took the soul and ran for my life. I definitely returned two souls but just lost track of which two. It would be nice if the quest description updated with some kind of a status on a large, multi-part quest like this. For example, it would be nice if it said "you've returned a soul from $location1 and $location2, but still have to find the third soul". I'm one of those people who can only play for a few hours on weekends because Real Life interferes, and I forget some details in between sessions.
  10. I'm late in the game now, and have a few things I want to ask about: I have a quest in my list called "Vahnatai Castle". I've thoroughly explored that castle and pretty sure I haven't missed anything. I've learned what can be learned there, but don't know how to resolve the quest so that it drops out of my quest list. The description doesn't say who to go talk to or who assigned the quest to me. Anybody know how to resolve it? Also a random item I've picked up in my travels that doesn't seem to have any purpose: a wrapped up bug. I never got a quest from the cute spiders or an aranea queen that wanted a meal bribe or whatever, so what is this item for?
  11. I restarted the program, rebooted and reinstalled and it's still the same, so I'll email them about it. Thanks Randomizer. I understand how some things are very hard to beta test, so I'm not upset about it. Spidweb games are still head and shoulders above EVERY other game I play in terms of quality and customer service.
  12. Thanks I'll do that. But I'll do the restart checks first just in case one of them works and saves them the trouble.
  13. Worse, actually I realized I didn't have Demonslayer when I was chasing him, so I ran away and am now back to finish him off... but he's nowhere to be found!
  14. ChronoTravis, if it makes you feel any better, I'm in the same situation. I triggered the trap, chased Garzahd onto the roof and away, and am now back wanting to get the crystal soul. Can't find a way to drop that pink barrier. Hmmph!
  15. Okay, I have to admit that I'm a fool. I had already done all that and have the gate address in my portal list. Derp! Sorry guys! (I beg a bad memory. I only have time to play on weekends, and sometimes every OTHER weekend, so I think I forgot where I left off during one of those breaks for real life. Ugh!)
  16. Hmm, I'll look again, but I think I destroyed that golem. When you say "his room" do you mean Ostoth's room? If so, then been there, cleaned it out. Not sure what I'm missing if that's the case.
  17. I spoke to Erika, who told me to talk to Ostoth about clues for where Angiach is. I went to talk to him, but there's no dialog choice for asking him about it. I'm puzzled as to what I missed. He does mention a tablet that Motrax lost. Is that what I need to find?
  18. Ugh, thank you. I had missed a branch of dialog with the NPC. There were no opportunities to ask anybody about them until I dug into the dialog tree a little. Now I have it, thanks!
  19. Ah, sorry Randomizer, I should add more detail about where I am. I've thoroughly explored the areas where I'm supposed to talk to that someone, and where he told me to look (or where I saw hints posted online for where to look). I long ago dispersed all barriers in the area, looked in all boxes, and talked to all the NPC's. That's why I'm so befuddled. If you look at my map, there's nothing I haven't explored (dark areas). And yet somehow I am missing this.
  20. I need help with this one, too. I asked in Egli and searched where they told me to and found nothing. I'm befuddled and need another hint. Are they in a box? Someone needs to hand them to me? Behind a secret door?
  21. Nope, the pyrrhic gauntlets. I decided they were worth the little bit of damage they caused.
  22. Ack, sorry nevermind. Couldn't find the answer with a search, so I posted, and then decided to browse posts while I waited for answers and ... well, found the answer!
  23. As I mentioned I'm a business analyst, so this is my thing. Apple needs to hire a few of me to work on their App Store team because clearly they don't have any. They targeted one user interface for a mashup of different use cases. You can't do a one size fits all solution to serve two completely, and I would go so far as to say contradictory requirements. If I was a developer I would love the top charts for doing competitive analyses and keep an eye on what the market is doing. But as a game buyer, I need to see categories of game types like hidden object, first person shooter, rpg, etc. it would also be great to have age and violence categories so that I don't have to wade through baby games unless I have a toddler or wade through GTA clones to find Avernum. And it would be nice if the new releases list showed more than just ten or whatever games. When a game shows up on that list for a few hours and then disappears while other games stay on the list for a week, you know something shady is going on.
  24. Count me in the disappointed. My iPad has become my game machine because I can play anywhere. Going back to spending hours in my home office playing on my Mac is going to suck a bit. I already spend too much time in here doing bookkeeping and webmastering stuff for my nonprofit. But that's all my problem. I can totally empathize with Jeff's frustration. And he's right that the app store is a steaming pile of shite. It's impossible to casually browse for good games there because of the avalanche of crap that you have to dig through. The only way I've been finding good games is by reading forums like Touch Arcade. I'm an IT Business Analyst by trade, and it blows my mind that Apple designed the app store UI to serve the developers instead of the buyers. I mean look at the Top Charts page. The categories are free apps, paid apps, and top grossing apps. As a buyer, are those the primary categories that help me in my buying decision? No they are not. I don't give a rats butthole what games are top grossing. Only the developers care about that. I'm not saying that Apple should take those categories away, but why not add some tailored more for purchasers to help in their buying decisions? Duh, duh and duh! Sorry, I've been gritting my teeth about that for years so it finally had to be typed. I'm buying my Avernum 2 for Macintosh now. It's inconvenient to play on the Mac but it won't stop me from buying games from my number one favorite game developer! Jeff, you keep on trucking!
