I tend to hoard them until I see who needs a couple of extra points to get whatever skill they need next--early in the game it's not always obvious. But by the time you get to Tenevra, hoarding is certainly counterproductive.

 

The point was that the giants are wimpier by any standard than the horde sliths--it's not because my party is stronger. Mind you, the wandering packmasters put up a bit more of a fight. Must be all the exercise.

I know. I meant that 52 skill points spread between 4 characters only gives you one or two useful skill levels each, so it doesn't make an enormous difference at this stage of the game.

Anyway, if this is your problem, then you should go ahead and buy A6. You'll like it a lot better.

Actually not levelling up very often at this point. Even the 26 knowledge brews I got in Tenevra haven't made a huge difference.

Does it seem right that giants are big pussycats compared to most Horde sliths? Clearing out Grindstone was a big yawn after doing Formello.

 

Maybe the giants have grown complacent and soft, while the sliths have been breeding and training warriors in secret for decades, but it still seems as if the big guys should be tougher than lizards.

Easier but not as much fun.

After clicking the mouse one thousand times in one go and having only two of my PCs level up as a result, I decided it was time to clean up my quest list and clean out those evil skribbane dealers.

Trying to find the mansion southwest of Formello seems like more trouble than it's worth, since that's where most of the horde seems to be. Is there a feasible way to do it?

MissSea might just mean that she's in Anama lands, not that she's joined them. Maybe.

Is there a way to get to the eastern area under Rentar's keep after killing the cultist? It seems to be entirely blocked by rubble and I can't find any switches.

 

I don't want to leave the area until I know!

Amen. Nothing like spending half an hour sorting through everyone's inventory to kill the flow of the story.

I like to think of the laws of physics as more like guidelines, anyway.

Same reason I despise playing Nethergate as Romans.

 

However, in this case you have the option to at least be ethical invaders, even if nobody appreciates it.

Press shift+d and type in "editor".

 

You can raise your skills without the need for "those annoying skill points".

 

Yes, with two casters and Adrenaline Rush, you can wipe out many large groups in a single round.

 

Battle Frenzy was amazing for spellcasters in A5, but apparently it's been nerfed. I don't know if it's worth trying for now.

Wouldn't it be simpler to just use the editor?

Are you trying to design a scenario?

 

If so, try the BoA editor forum; it's the next one down.

 

If not, and you are just trying to exit from a scenario before finishing it, you can do that with the in-game character editor. Open the editor, load your saved game, and choose "Take party out of scenario."

Your mage is human, obviously. Slith or Nephil mages can get the battle disciplines fairly easily. And you haven't purchased all the available training.

So do that, and you can equip a few items that give bonuses to weapon skills, but human mages will still have to spend some skill points to get up to Adrenaline Rush.

Seems to me there were a couple in one of the taverns early in the game. They didn't want to talk.

Hey, not everyone has a previous save to go back to when they wander into someplace they shouldn't.

 

Or the Voice of Vogel to tell them "This might be very dangerous..."

You run across a lot of their bones and equipment.

It makes me wonder: how does this benefit the basilisk? Frozen dinner has nutritional value, but stone is a little rough on the digestive tract, not to mention the teeth.

 

Maybe they just like having a little statuary to brighten up the lair.

It's not mukluks we need to worry about, it's moose.

They just look like regular mushrooms. Walking on them will not get you a special message (although one patch does appear on your automap when you find it). You can only tell they're blighted when in the inventory screen.

These might be the banshees in the secret crypt which is accessible via the down staircase west of Bargha. Have you been there yet?
