Then you can buy furniture for your house. Maybe a nice chesterfield or an ottoman.

Max Accuracy
Jerakeen replied to Bushwhacker2k's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
And of course hit rate also depends on what you're trying to hit. You may be at 95% vs trash mobs but 30% vs bosses. -
Max Accuracy
Jerakeen replied to Bushwhacker2k's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
Pretty sure that's not the case, but I can't back that up atm. Of course, some stats that increase accuracy will also increase damage. And some games have damage caps. Which game were you asking about specifically? A2? -
A2 - Elderan's Tower - Bills
Jerakeen replied to Bushwhacker2k's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
The four scenarios that come with BoA seem to be set more or less between A3 and A4, though it really doesn't matter. The user-made scenarios can of course be set anywhere and anywhen, in the Avernum universe or not. -
A2 - Elderan's Tower - Bills
Jerakeen replied to Bushwhacker2k's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
I wonder if they're meant to be the same two Bills from Ft. Draco in A1. -
avernum party makeup and size
Jerakeen replied to catphive's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
Yes, positions can be changed. Look for a little red/green arrow icon next to the character portraits in the roster. Click it to switch two characters' spots. No, humans have no particular bonuses, unfortunately. -
A2-A3 - Summoning Costs?
Jerakeen replied to Bushwhacker2k's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
AFAIK the cost is constant. The slot is chosen randomly, which can be incredibly annoying if it overwrites something you especially like. The only thing you can do about it is to save prior to attempting a capture, and reload if you don't like where it ends up. -
A2 - Move Mountains - World Map?
Jerakeen replied to Bushwhacker2k's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
Okay, well you'll find more complete maps here: Avernum Annotated Maps I couldn't find the exact spot you're describing, but if there's a pit it's probably accessible once you get the Orb of Thralni, which gives you the power of flight. You are correct that Move Mountains is useless outdoors. -
Freedom Charm
Jerakeen replied to Bushwhacker2k's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
Actually, that's not quite true: invulnerability potions in the early games did work as advertised, but obviously we were talking about items not consumables. -
Freedom Charm

Yeah, there's no such thing as absolute protection in any Spiderweb game. -
My favorite is "rouge".

The search function on these forums is hit-and-miss at best; a wiki would be useful. It's an enormous task, though, which is probably why it never went anywhere. By all means, take it on if you want to, Notpointed. You've already noticed that you won't get a lot of encouragement, but if you've got the sheer bloody-mindedness to make significant progress, who knows? Others might join in. Good luck.

A2 - Resetting Areas?
Jerakeen replied to Bushwhacker2k's topic in Avernum Trilogy (2000-2002 original versions)
Yeah that's annoying. It's just a quirk of the program. I guess Jeff didn't want to be bothered assigning memory flags to all of the locked doors. No, there's nothing you can do about it. Sorry. -
Lukematt, it is not okay to insult any nationality on these boards. Even Americans. Eaintree, I'm guessing that your reply was meant to be ironic, but let's just not go down that road. Speaking as a mod, here. Thanks, guys.

That is terrible, Valdain. Condolences to you and your family. Feel free to message me or any member of the mod team.

FYT @Lilith: Bizarrely, it's American southerners that call iced tea "tea".
-
They're not the same. In England, an english muffin is called a "muffin". Not a crumpet. Kind of like how in Canada, ice hockey is called "hockey".
-
You can get crumpets in Canada, so you Americans just come on over. Note that the speed limits are in kph. Canada: Come for the crumpets, stay for the poutine.

Too late, we've got you surrounded. Bwahahahaha. Congrats, Nikki!

How not to Suck at Avadon 2: The Corruption [SPOILERS]
Jerakeen replied to Randomizer's topic in Avadon Series
It occurs to me that the Sorcerer could free up some skill points by ignoring Magical Mastery. It's no longer a prerequisite for anything, and all it does is raise accuracy and lower fatigue. With maxed-out INT, is hit rate likely to be a problem in the late game? And reducing fatigue is certainly handy, but not necessarily essential for a class with so many attacks available. Plus there's bound to be some equipment that does the same thing, not to mention the potions. Am I wrong? -
This explains why Icy Lance kind of sucks, then. My sorcerer just has a shortbow.

Do we need to play The Black Fortress before playing The Corruption?
Jerakeen replied to Darrell999's topic in Avadon Series
Welcome to the forums, Darell! You can play the sequel first if you don't mind a few spoilers; the backstory will be explained. -
I royally can't stand my character and party
Jerakeen replied to mynameismudd's topic in Avadon Series
You couldn't have fought her with more than one character, but the fight itself was optional, iirc.
