  1. Try this. In the console, type in sdf 100 13 0 The quest will remain in your log, but you should be able to go to the Contested Lands without Dedrik. You also might be able to talk to him and refuse the quest, but I'm not 100% sure about that.
  2. It's easy to mod rubble to be passable; I do it for mapping. Invariably there's nothing there.
  3. Charged Shot is an ability you gain when you train Wristflinger to level 6. At level 3 you just get a small chance of ensnaring your razordisk target.

    Party time!

Thank you for your service, Dikiyoba.
  5. When you're in the room with Redbeard later, there's a tunnel visible through a window in the eastern wall. Anybody know if there's a way to get to it?
  6. Evidently they're not quite as mind-bogglingly stupid as the RBBoT.
  7. According to Spiderweb: That's all I got.
  8. Um. Today's pdn is making me a little nervous.
  9. Heart Callan has those doors opened for you after you do her quests. The first one is doing the favor for councilor Tan, the second is speaking to Philana. It shouldn't have anything to do with Dedrik at all. Check your quest list.
  10. I think it was only noted in her case because a sixteen-year-old Hand is noteworthy. It can be assumed that everyone else is older.
  11. Very nice; I'll add a link to this in Strategy Central. In reference to this: I would add "as long as someone has line of sight, and no enemy is on the targeted space." If the space is occupied, then normal range restrictions apply. It's just a little quirk in the system. Also note that you can pick up a razordisk in the first zone, not long after the first bow.
  12. I think Dedrik's quest is a little buggy. I refused it, but it's still on my quest list and marked on my map.
  13. Yeah, that's a very time-consuming project. I'm still on my first playthrough, maybe about halfway, so I haven't even started it yet. Once I do start, you can expect it to take weeks to months depending on how much time I have to spare. Possibly someone else will get to it before I do.
  14. Are you talking about creature #84? I find it hard to believe that summoned drakes are intended to have Daze, Haste, Inferno and Call Aid. That sounds more like a normal drake. But I couldn't find another drake in the script, so I don't know.
  15. Does anybody know if the missile damage bonuses that you get from some items apply to other missile-like attacks, such as yankshot or shrapnel grenade?
  16. And with high INT, a shaman can do good damage with offensive scarabs, at least.
  17. I think this belongs in the Avadon 2 forum. :-) (moved)
  18. I did both levels on Normal with a level 11 dex-based Tinkermage. Her skills are built to the left, so she has access to shrapnel grenade and yankshot, but she's wearing the Fancy Toolbelt, so she can make all the basic turrets. She is also equipped with the frost-rimed and pulsating scarabs, for Cone of Ice and Earthshatter. I do not have access to any summoning items yet. I invested in some fine chainmail and a deep runestone, but as it turned out that probably wasn't necessary. Between the two fights, I used up most of a wand of ice and a wand of corruption, two potions of battle, and an assault crystal. Did not need any healing or speed items. For each fight, I set up one freezing and one snare turret, and used Charge Turrets. I used yankshot once, shrapnel grenade and Cone of Ice twice each, and Earthshatter not at all. Important to note that I placed my turrets fairly close together and let the mobs come to me. I only got hit a few times, and it was all over surprisingly quickly. Not what I expected after my first disastrous attempt with a right-branch Tinkermage. Poor Cal almost soiled her greaves when she saw those wax titans, but they went down like chumps. Left branch may be sub-optimal, but it sure is fun.
  19. I was disappointed with this too, but on reflection I realized that there was a good reason for the cap being set where it was. Evidently some or all of the companion quests are distasteful and/or objectionable in some way. The level cap ensures that you don't get penalized if you choose not to do them all. I wonder if and when you hit it if you do none of them.
  20. I wasn't talking about exceeding the maximum carrying capacity, which as you say is not possible in the first trilogy. I was talking about what happens when the amount of armour equipped raises encumbrance above 4. It can be within the character's capacity to bear the weight, but still encumbering if Hardiness is too low.
  21. The AP penalty is only affected by what the character has equipped, not what's in the pack. You won't lose AP unless your encumbrance hits 5 or higher.
  22. That is Franz Scortchmaw. He's just had his wake-up jolt and he's feeling pretty good. For more information, see Girl Genius.
  23. For a second there, I thought you'd turned Cockney.
  24. I forgot to mention the other drawback to using a tablet, but it may not apply to you. In the Mac and PC versions, you can edit the scripts to do things like making lockpicks and secret switches stand out more (because they're pretty hard to see there too), and you can even download a character editor for serious cheating. As far as I know, the iPad scripts can't be edited. Doesn't sound like cheating is your cup of tea anyway, but I thought I'd mention it. And honestly, the lockpicks and switches are a design error — it doesn't feel like cheating to correct them.
  25. 1 - If you plan to play on Torment, you will probably have to optimize your character builds. Fortunately, there is a retrainer available, so you don't have to start over if you have regrets. For most classes, the center branch of the skill tree will be essential for survival at the toughest difficulty. Also, some monsters will get extra attacks on Torment - it can get pretty crazy. But you can always change the difficulty mid-game. 2 - You can mostly ignore the NPCs you don't want, except that each of them has one quest they'll insist on joining you for. Unused NPCs will level up while they're waiting, so you don't need to worry about that. There are some fights that may be easier with certain classes, but most of them should be beatable with most combinations. 3 - Secret door switches are almost impossible to see in the iPad version (this will be better in Av2). Movement and targeting can be a little tricky with the touch screen, but really it's quite playable.
